Go hire Jim Leonhard from the Broncos

He may like the NFL more at this point and Denver is having a great season, but LSU and the idea of running his own defense has to have some appeal.

Is more than likely gonna be someone that he has crossed paths in coaching with before. Or someone recommended from a coach he has coached with before. Like getting info from Saban or Kirby about a coach.

While I agree Leonhard would be a fantastic hire, this board has been throwing his name around for every DC hire I can remember. Just don’t see him making the jump down south now.

The man doesn’t want to be a defensive coordinator. Think about it. He could have gone anywhere as a defensive coordinator in 2022 after Wisconsin hired Fickell, but he didn’t. He went to Illinois of all places as an analyst.
Even now, he’s in a similar role for the Broncos (where he also played professionally). If Leonhard really wanted to be a defensive coordinator for just about any blue blood college football program, he’d have the job tomorrow.
It’s not something he wants. It’s something that he has consistently not wanted.
