We averted disaster. This recruiting class would have fallen apart and even signing portal players would have been tough.

He really just needs to run for office and go full grifter. His press conferences were weird as frick from the day he got to campus and it was like he got way too much enjoyment out of standing in front of a microphone and trying to sell people bullshite while he sat around behind the scenes and played golf and drank wine at BRCC with no regard for what was actually happening inside the program.
The craziest part is that he didn’t even need to act like that. The contract was fully guaranteed, he could’ve dropped the arrogant bullshite artist shtick at any point and came out exactly the same. I know I’m beating the dead horse in this post but he’s one of the weirdest public figures I’ve ever seen outside of politics

I didn't like Kelly either, and he was a bad fit for LSU. But let's not pretend that Saban didn't say the same kind of things. He just had the champoinships to back up whatever he said. Here is one quote from Saban that is comparable -
"When I came here everybody was happy to win a game. Right now we're not happy to win a game anymore, we're not happy to win a game at all. We think we should win games by whatever..."

This kind of Saban presser is the first thing I thought of when Kelly had his 'you're spoiled' moment. I knew that was the beginning of the end for him, though if I'm honest I never dreamed he'd be fired this year. 
Saban was never satisfied. I remember someone asking him in a post game interview right after one of their NC games how long he was going to celebrate, or something like that, and he basically said "I'm going to enjoy tonight and tomorrow I have a bunch of stuff to do to start planning for next season". Kelly was going on vacation during bye weeks, he was never going to win a championship here.
