Former Alabama OL coach 2022-2023
Posted on 12/3/25 at 3:26 pm to tiggy
Need some Bama fans to chime in. Was Nick Sabans last OL hire

Ton of sec experience. I know that Kentucky OL was dogshit in the years following their OL coach that died, but he was only there the last 2 seasons.
We’ll see

I like it. Wolford has 25+ years of offensive line experience, including time in the NFL. He turned Kentucky’s line into a Joe Moore Award finalist, with a 5.23 yards-per-carry run game and the nation’s best rate of 4+ yard runs.
At South Carolina, his lines cut sacks from 41 to 23 in two seasons and produced the SEC’s leading rusher in 2020. His groups consistently ran the ball well and protected the quarterback better year over year.
He also has head-coaching experience at Youngstown State, where his teams set school records and earned top-10 rankings. He’s been recognized as a top recruiter.

He isn’t Brad Davis, so that’s exciting.
Kentucky is often a victim of their horrific scheme. I want whoever Lane wants.

Yeah, he does. It'll be interesting to see if he's going to be on the analyst team or the actual O-Line coach. Assume he was probably out of a job after Stoops got canned.

Good luck. Kentucky fans warned us about him. And they were right. Maybe he fits better with Kiffin’s offense. But he did not jive with Butt Chin or Rees.

Hopefully, this works out great for us; a proper o-line coach is so critical.
Particularly on the offensive line, I’d much rather have less talent and better technique than vice versa; fortunately, though, we shouldn’t have to make that trade-off.

Can you just lie to us and say he’s a good hire

Ah, well, that’s not encouraging, but the insight is appreciated.

Kiffin still trying to lure his former OleMiss RB and OL coach.
Maybe this guy is the back up plan.
Anyone is better than Davis !!!!

Really hope he’s not our Oline coach. Kentucky’s line has been atrocious. What I read about him at bama doesn’t seem like he did well either

Initially , most thought it was going to be a good hire bc he did well at Kentucky . Not sure what the issue was but he was underwhelming at Bama IMO. Could just be the jimmy and Joe’s bc we have been very inconsistent / average here lately , some of which he would be responsible for

I heard garrison told the team he was staying. Maybe lane making another run at him.

Kentucky hates this guy. Also Kentucky offense was abysmal this past year. Not a Southern guy. Probably won't appeal to Southern trench boys either in recruiting. Eh hire

Honestly, he was terrible. Our OL got much worse under him and we are just now recovering. He was the one who had us with our heaviest OL ever, and it was a mess. Maybe he’s changed his philosophy since then but we were very happy to see him leave.
