Kenny Darby...A lot has been mentioned about this kid in the last 24 hours.

It is absolutely true from the family Lane Kiffin and LSU wanted to move in a different direction. I hate this for the kid with it being so last minute and think LSU is making a mistake. History tells us the best LSU receivers are from Louisiana and maybe it all works out for LSU but for the last few years these out of state guys whether it was transfers or high school recruits don't pan out. If you watched Airline play this year you see the drop off in the talent around him and it was the Kenny Darby show. He was limited in how much he could play outside receiver with inconsistent quarterback play, constant double coverage, and teams selling out to take him away. He still managed to make plays when teams knew who was getting the ball. I do not buy the "lack of explosiveness" narrative. I have no doubt he will land on his feet. If you know the kid, then you already know he plays with a chip on his shoulder and will use this as motivation.

Everyone makes mistakes, but I'll trust Kiffin on his evaluation.

He was replaced with another 4* Louisiana receiver Brayden Allen. Time will tell if it was the right decision. Lane and his team didn't recruit him.

Barber is better, LSU swapped one for the other

We might have too many of that type of WR. What if Kiffin needed another type of WR to fit his scheme better. I know it sucks to lose a Louisiana kid but I'll give Kiffin the benefit until it burns us.

Darby should have kept himself out of trouble and maybe he still has the opportunity.

All the receivers LSU got to sign are rated ahead of him and two of the three are from Louisiana. I hate it for the kid but the argument of not taking a Louisiana kid is not as strong in this case because 2 of the 3 are from Louisiana...

having a kid who was "left at the altar athletically" so to say... it really sucks and I feel bad for the kid/family.
it does sound like he will channel the disappointment productively and will be rooting for him (except when he plays against the tigers)
like I tell my kid, sometimes God has a different plan in mind and it's on you to make the most of it.

I guess but that really has nothing to do with Darby
Kelly had one of the worst offensive staffs assembled maybe ever here and they clearly struggled with evals on that side of the ball.
Now we have one of the best, I’m going to trust their evals on this one.
It’s unfortunate timing for Darby but it’s not like Lane has been here for weeks and pulled the rug under him last minute. He was ranked lower on the new regime’s board

Other players may work out but I have no doubt Darby will be a good college WR. This is a head scratcher

Hate pulling offers from Louisiana kids at the 11th hour. Kid was committed to LSU for over a year. It's heartbreaking for the kid, and it's not a good look for the staff.

No no thats not made up, I wont elaborate as I don't think it truthfully has anything to do with it what is going on right now nor do I know all the facts. He was more than likely just a casualty due to his fit in their offense as many have said.

Yeah, I don't like this at all.
The kid is a take all day.

We have any idea where he’s heading?

He got in trouble at school. Thats all I will say about that.
I like him alot as a WR. He's been ballin out for years. He was used in the backfield, pop screens, sweeps all year long as Chase stuggled to get him the ball on the outside.
