You hope he will be but chances are slim

Anderson and Brown are on a different level

I just feel that Brown is going to end up at left tackle. There is just too much value there. I get that the kid wants to play defense and that should be honored, but I have a feeling that common sense is going to prevail there.

Now, having said that, the "Bear Bryant" method was to have every single lineman start on defense. If they could get separation, they stayed on defense. If they couldn't, they moved to offense.

Edge and OT are basically equals in terms of value and Edges are getting paid more than OTs in the NFL b/c they're more impactful as individuals.

You can get by with a solid OL without elite tackles.

DL doesn't translate the same in terms of unit v. individual

I won't get into a comparison because I believe they all can be great but I will say LSU haven't had a DT with the size and quickness of Richard Anderson in a very long time

Myles Garrett is 270 pounds. Micah Parsons is 250.

Lamar Brown is 6'4", 285 pounds and doesn't turn 18 until next year. If he gains only 5 pounds in college and gets faster, he can stay at edge. But, if he ends up at 315 or more (which I think is likely), then he's going to either move inside to tackle or to offensive tackle.

There is a reason that most players at a certain position are of a stereotypical size.

Don't think Lamar is a real edge in the NFL though. I think he's probably closer to 6'3", but even if not, will end up being 300+. But I'm no expert. I, too, think he could be a great tackle if he's got the arm span (which I don't know). He could excel at either in college though.

I think Anderson is the real monster on the DL too. I think he's going to be really, really good at DT. Plays mean and aggressive.

I agree with your assessment. Given his current age and weight, his frame definitely suggests he will end up well over 300.

This is from the summer. He’s closer to 6’5” than 6’3”.

Actually it’s from summer of 24’. He has the frame to play just about anywhere.

OT would be the biggest learning curve, but he has the frame & traits for sure.

Its time for LSU to be what it used to be and that usually meant a stud DT or two.

Sorry, i dont know how to spell them all but:
Chad Lavalais
Glen Dorsey
Drake Nevis
Booger McFanland
etc.

These guys are the next generation. Lets get them signed!

Want Deuce, but Richard Anderson is at the top of my wish list. He throws Oline guys out of his way. He is the 330 lb version of a honey badger.

This Dline class could rival the best ever groups we have ever brought in.

This group in 2 years: Deuce, Brown, Anderson, Henderson
