We are one Duke win away from the ACC officially sinking below the mid major level.

So the winner of the Tulane vs North Texas game gets in.

Winner and loser of both B1G and SEC.

If Texas Tech wins and they don't punish teams for playing an additional game, then Miami is the last man out with a win over number 10 Notre Dame who is in.

ACC being left out would be wild.

Hopefully seeding moves around a bit (it should) to avoid 2 rematches in the first round

Really pulling for 7-5 Duke to win the ACC & we get Tulane/UNT AND JMU in the CFP.

First round of playoffs are gonna be sick

It's part of the bylaws that they won't do that.

As best I can tell:

- The top 8 teams are 100% in
- Alabama, BYU, Tulane, North Texas, and Virginia are in if they win their conference championship games
- James Madison is in if they win the Sun Belt and Virginia loses to Duke

The only two outstanding questions:

1. What happens if Georgia beats Alabama? The obvious thought is that they're out, but some might argue they shouldn't be punished for playing an extra game by being pushed out of the playoff in lieu of teams ranked lower than them, like Notre Dame and Miami.

2. Miami beat Notre Dame head-to-head in week 1. Both teams have identical records and lackluster schedules. Notre Dame is ranked ahead of Miami. If BYU loses to Texas Tech, Notre Dame is in the playoffs, while Miami needs Alabama and BYU to lose AND needs the committee to drop Alabama below Miami after losing. Is the committee truly disregarding head-to-head? Seems like it...

this is an interesting test for how far this goes

but it’s also a lie, they punished FSU for “only” winning 16-6 in their conference championship game and looking “bad”. What happens, for example, if Ty Simpson gets injured in the SEC championship game?

Also there's a world where the committee has to choose between Duke or Troy for the fifth spot

The only thing I will say is it is absolutely wild for anyone to use current hypothetical betting lines to compare these teams especially when some of them have actually played each other this season

and the two jokers kicking and screaming to get out couldn’t bother to be in the mix

If Simpson gets hurt, and Bama loses. They are 100% out of the playoffs.

The significance of moving Bama ahead of ND means ND is the lame duck. If an extra team gets in then ND gets pushed out not Bama, even if Bama loses.

Where's the LSU Bill's fan guy that was melting all over the board the past three days guaranteeing 'Bama would be left out with a loss?

We have learned that September losses don't matter
Nice to know.
