This guy is probably the best recruiter of Louisiana that is out there. He loves LSU. We have some of the best recruits in this class on hold because his future is uncertain.

We made the mistake once of letting him out the door. I don’t care how we make it work but we gotta find a way to make it work. When all the coaching changes happened under Kelly most of this board defended it and we saw that was a colossal mistake. Don’t make that same mistake again.

It's unclear to me if the delay in signings is Frank's fault or something to do with uncertainty on the defensive staff.

It has to do with uncertainty of coaches that recruited them and they love here. Guys like Frank are the boots on the ground and probably the person on the staff these recruits know the best.

Make him Director of Culture & Alumni relations. He needs to be like Kip Holden around the facility.

Yeah give him a solid gig to keep him on staff. Pay him very well. The in state talent in Louisiana is irrelevant if you don’t have the guys who know how to recruit it

You do realize that Frank hasn't been on staff for any of the national championships that LSU has won, yes? Frank is important, and I hope they figure out something for him to stay, but acting like LSU will just completely shut down and never be able to recruit the state of Louisiana if he leaves is beyond an overreaction. The fact that he is an awful position coach isn't helping his cause here..... You can't sacrifice player development.

You saying the in-state talent is irrelevant if you can't recruit it, I would counter with.... it doesn't matter how much talent in general you have if you can't develop them properly. If he's too proud to take an off-field role and focus more on recruiting than coaching, well.... what is Lane supposed to do? Sacrifice player development for an essential position group for the offense to pull a few kids from New Orleans? Frank Wilson isn't the only person who can recruit the city of New Orleans..... other schools go in there and pull them out all the time. If he is truly being vindictive and using recruits as leverage....he can absolutely get fricked.

Those other schools successfully recruiting the NOLA area have current coaches from the area(Texas/USC) for example. If you remove Frank from the equation, what position coach is left with connections to the area??

I’m more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, unless more concrete evidence of sabotage arrives, but no one gets to hold this program hostage.

You can’t mortgage the future of the program just for one signing class imo. IF Frank is causing issues, boot him and take the hit and then just do work in the portal
