Go to the game and tell everyone a week later you had a great time at the wedding. No one will even question you were there or remember you werent.
Over the years, not counting parents funeral and daughter’s wedding, I have “attended” a half dozen funerals and at least ten weddings. I have actually been to two funerals and three weddings (and one was reception only). Even a few where my wife went alone, no one remembers or gives a shite I wasn't there.

At some point that day, make your obligatory phone call, deliver a few fake coughs; throw in a few retching/gagging sounds, and maybe pour a can of vegetables into the toilet for realistic sound effects.
