As long as he is able to work with the recruiting staff to keep the class intact and can work to get his coaches in place. Honestly, that would suck for OM, his attention would definitely be divided.

If Lane was 100% guaranteed to come to LSU, I wouldnt mind him coaching the playoffs. We’d go thru early signing period without a head coach (officially), and potentially miss the only transfer portal period Jan. 2-16th. But honestly do we have real expectations in Year 1 anyway? Would it be the end of the world if we missed out on a couple transfer players in year 1? I doubt it would make much of a difference in the long run.

I don’t think I’d be ok with him dragging this out another month or two while telling LSU “I’m coming. Trust me, bro” and I don’t think he can sign a contract with us and then finish out the season with his former team.
