Lane cannot seriously expect to let Ole Miss fans sit in the cuck chair and watch Lane (who is LSU bound) to coach their team any further.

This is squarely on Lane.

If you want to coach your playoff team and likely lose in the first one or two rounds, then sign the damn extension.

If you want to take the better job and get started on the future, make it so.

Hes gonna have to make a sacrifice to come here, Ole Miss would be complete and utter morons to let him continue.

He didnt just burn the bridge, he nuked it from orbit.

He will be on a plane by the end of tomorrow. He is mentally checked out of OM as a program, he just wants to finish with the team, but it wont happen unless he binds himself to OM. And he wont do that. Because when they flame out, hes back to building another roster from scratch.

All of his actions to now indicate hes mentally checked out from OM. He's actively telling them he intends to leave.

The real question is this- why is Ole Miss treating Coach Kiffin so unfairly?

Why would we give a frick if our coach broke a bridge with a rival. Oh well they’ll need to get over it.

If he doesn’t officially sign anything with LSU what is Ole Miss’ option?

I get that. And i get siding with him, i want him to coach here too. But if im OM, im just gonna bite the buyout instead of letting him coach.

They don’t have a basis to give him an ultimatum.

He has a contract to coach at OM, until that contract is terminated, he has a contact to coach the team.

He doesn’t have to sign any extension.

Whether he coaches there next year or not. It’s not a requirement to fulfill his current contract.

It’s semantics at this point. He can continue to coach and quit later. Or they can let him coach. Or they can fire him. He holds all the cards. Until the ncaa says you can’t entertain offers until the season has concluded they have no ground.

Dellenger had already reported that Lane has told Ole Miss officials his desire to leave for LSU and has begun contacting coaches for a staff at LSU.

He said the reason for the holdup in announcement is they are trying to workout whether Lane can coach the playoffs or not. The players are backing Lane to coach but Ole Miss AD and chancellor does not want him to.

What does “tank” the buyout mean?
