Regarding the Penn State job

Josh Pate mentioned on his show the other day that he’s aware of who the primary target is.
Says he’s not sure if “the fit” is right and that it probably wouldn’t be in the top 15 names people would expect, but that it would turn heads around the sport. I’m wondering who really fits the criteria there?
Saban? No, he fits anywhere and has probably been mentioned, even in gest
Gruden? Can’t see it, doesn’t strike me as a cold weather coach
Meyer? I could see this as a possibility
Dillingham? Would match up with the “not sure fit is right”
Matt Campbell? Pate has an infatuation with him
My ultra dark horse- Chris Petersen.
Who are some out of left field hires I’m not thinking of here, because the insinuation is that it’ll be a splash out of left field

Josh Pate claiming he KNOWS who every major program is hiring is absolutely ridiculous, and yet people keep falling for it.

He didn’t claim to know who they’re hiring, he claimed to know who they’re zeroing in on. Like it or not he’s one of the most plugged in guys in the sport when it comes to having sources everywhere. He was obviously told not to leak the name as well
