Which ‘modern’ songs would have been popular at almost anytime in history?

The premise: Take a song released in the last few decades and send it back to the past (1800’s, 1700’s, Middle Ages, whenever) and it would still be liked or popular.
While I am sort of over The Beatles at the moment, I can see the song ‘Yesterday’ being appreciated at any point in English speaking history.
Any others?

"Yesterday" is not a modern song.
Nothing on the radio in the last 10 years would hold up.

I put ‘modern’ in quotes for that reason

Wouldn’t just about any modern music be considered witchcraft by their standards?

probably some of Bruno Mars's hits

Nothing after the big band era of the 1920s would be popular in past centuries. Jazz or anything with an electric guitar would get you hanged in the 1700s or earlier. It's all devil music.

Shoot to Thrill would be celebrated in any era.

You may not like it but they would be hits

Probably have to go back a little further.
Songs that translated well to unplugged performances.
Some neoclassical guitar arrangements.

Nothing would transcend time and cultures. You could maybe take some modern bluegrass or gospel and it could pass in some cultures back to the 18th century.

Crying In The Chapel
El Paso
The Battle of New Orleans - IIRC the music was written shortly after the battle
Love Me Tender - music is the old folk song Aura Lee
A Lover's Concerto is based on Bach
Groovy Kind of Love is based on the composer Clementi
Jambalaya is based on a fiddle tune of the 1840s
Michael Row The Boat Ashore
Tom Dooley
Ode To Billie Joe's swampy rhythm would have been out of place, but otherwise it might have fit in
Too many Dylan songs to list

I haven't listened to current music in 25+ years unless it's in the air as I'm in society.
Have there been any hit cover songs since the turn of the century?
It used to be easy to see a song from past generations get reworked and become a hit again.
"My Maria" -BW Stevenson, 1973
"My Maria" - Brooks and Dunn, 1996

I think Mark Knopfler would have a few.
It's always seemed to me that he mostly stays away from themes that put him in a time box. "Money For Nothing" is an outlier.
When I hear " These mist covered mountains are a wonder to me", right then I'm drawn in.

This melody, instrumentation and vocal would have been popular in any era from the late 1960's-present.
It reminds me of prime Elton John / Bernie Taupin. The lyrics might have needed a mod, but a great song.
