Jimmy Sexton has other coaching clients.

I would suspect there would be others prior to landing on Baker.

It’s starting to make a little sense, the bama and ark game the broadcast teams raved about Baker and how he’d be a great fit as HC, maybe LSU fed that info to those teams to soften the fans incase they needed him for the backup to Kiffin.

Baker is an easy sell IMO. Just need to make sure the offense is revamped with a highly respected OC and position coaches.

Just take the lazy hire huh?

Typical LSU fashion. Sounds like some of the fanbase has accepted the lazy route as well.

I personally would actually try to go out and find another actual really good head coach if Kiffin did fall through because I dont think Baker would even be close to the right choice to build LSU into a yearly contender. You can’t just throw your hands in the air and say f**k it and ask whoever on staff want to be HC if Kiffin doesn’t come lol. Dillingham, Sumrall or Golesh is 3 names you definitely go hard after before you even think about promoting anyone on LSUs current staff to HC.

Dilly hasn't been mentioned by any inside report as actually on the list. That's all fan and analyst driven, nothing from inside the ops building unfortunately

Was Kirby Smart a lazy hire? Dabo Sweeney? Barry Switzer? Marcus Freeman?

Baker can’t stop a running qb, it’s laughable to think lsu would hire him to run the entire program

Does promoting a coordinator always work as well as these? Does it work even 20% of the time?

Does any coaching hire work 20% of the time? Most of these guys will be fired.

Fine. So using wildly successful coordinator promotions to support Baker is worthless, as I was suggesting.

If no Lane, & I always thought he was just letting us spend a lot of money to F us! Give it to Frank and give him the money(NIL), and get the best coordinators! Geaux Tigers!
