Players can bolt for more money and opt out. No moral qualms with coaches doing same

Such a bullshite point

How many are opting out with a championship on the line?

Agree 100%. this has been my argument in other posts. If the players aren't loyal and can opt out and any time and transfer every year and still get paid then who cares if a coach leaves after regular season for what they feel is a better opportunity. with the early signing date and portal date most coaches will feel as if they have to at least lock in somewhere else soon as season is over.

With the old system, coaches were able leave willy nilly, leaving players in the dust with no way out of the program.
Transfer portal/NIL definitely changed the game.

Coaches have buyout clauses, Fisch would owe UW $10 MM if he leaves.

This is dumb. He would definitely finish the season if allowed. This is an ole miss and ncaa issue that is causing it.

As Saban said, this is not a Lane Kiffin problem. This is an NCAA and portal problem and they need to clean up their mess so this doesn't ever have to happen again.
Don't blame this on Lane Kiffin or any other coach who's switching positions right now.

And this just happened to Lane when Quinshon Judkins left for Ohio State as Ole Miss was preparing for a great season.

Coaches used to be criticized for doing it, then players joined them with the portal and NIL. I hate it with both of them and that shite doesn't just happen after the season is completely finished (bowl game and all), but that's just the way it is these days.

I’m waiting for one of the portal kids to chime in and talk about loyalty and commitment. Lmao.

Coaches being able to move jobs at will was the argument for the transfer portal, not vice versa.

I must have missed the updated rule that allows a player to transfer mid season and immediately play for a rival.

Dude its because coaches have always had the option to up and leave a program, that players wanted and sought the same. In the past the school had to release thrm for them to be able to transfer to another school or program. Their current school could refuse or restrict where they went.

Ncaa wants this chaos so they can sweep in with legislation

To be fair it’s usually the coaches who act high and mighty about the players bolting for more money and opportunity which is why people point to the hypocrisy, but I agree it’s a pretty nothing point to make in this situation
