No matter your taste, no matter how you like to spend your free time or weekends, Austin can accommodate you

its a shithole compared to what it was but the Austin 'burbs/ Metro is still nice

My daughter is attending UT at Austin. I didn't think I would like visiting that city, but it's been growing on me. There's always something interesting to do.

It should be said that there are A LOT of homeless people in Austin...everywhere.

I go to Austin every so often to remind me why I don't go to Austin more often.

Half of liberals today dress like they're homeless, so your perception may be skewed.

Dude, you live in Houston. There is no shortage of shite to do. Go to the neighborhood where your daughter lives and drive around at 430AM on a weekday. You're not going to be pleased.

Austin sucked in the late 90s when I lived there, and it still sucks now, just with more homeless people. The best thing it has going for it is all the new high speed toll roads.

There is a lot to do in Austin. But it’s still a shithole.

They would’ve noticed bc I’m missing a tan from not being in the Florida sun all day

Was there actually a point where it wasn't just the same 25 bands playing in the same bars?

my wife was at school there for a few years about a decade ago. Can’t imagine how much worse the homeless situation is now with how much it’s grown but it was noticeable even back then

Outside of that I really couldn’t say a bad thing about it. I flew or drove there once a month to visit and feel like we did something new every time I went. ACL, Kayaking lady bird lake, taking day trips to hill country, Barton springs, McKinney and Padernales falls state parks, good local restaurants, and walking around campus were all cool things I remember doing

A while back I was zipping down 130 at about 3 AM doing about 110 mph. Next thing I know, I look up and there is a line of 5 or 6 racoons crossing the road.

Nothing I could could do. I smoked several of them I'm sure. Glad I was in my truck and not my car or motorcycle.
