Actually, it was Maleveto that was really hated.
Tepper was pre-TigerDroppings, so it may have been worse. Maleveto was crazy on here for a while.

True, though wasn't it Malveto (Mallory and Peveto)? Also, Peveto was a good recruiter and a decent special teams coach as I recall.

I actually corrected to Maleveto before seeing your post. Yep, the co-defensive coordinators were hated on here.

Lou Tepper by a landslide. I still don’t believe in the 3-4 defensive scheme to this day because of him….

This.
Everything had been building towards that 1998 season and LSU seemed to have all of the pieces in place to make a real run at the SEC championship. LSU started out ranked in the top 10 for the first time in a long time. That ONE change in the staff tanked it all. Tepper played a somewhat unique defense no one else played and it crashed the season.

House…wasted our top offense and a chance at a natty with his terrible excuse for a defense.

Just reading that name made me wanna turn off my Jefferson Pilot broadcast.

I will never forget people touting him by saying he wrote a book titled "Complete Linebacking".
He was a disaster. He tanked Dinardo's career.

Everyone forgot about Cam Cameron?

Tepper and his "drop linebacker" concept. Ugh. I vividly remember the angst from his two seasons as DC.

Seems like we lost every game 39-36. Very good offense sunk by a defense that always made sure to give up just a few more points than the offense could generate. The defense was so bad there was rumor on campus that the DBs were throwing games for MasterP. Just inexplicable plays. Opposing WRs would be covered tightly but still make catches when all the DB had to do was bat the ball down.

Y'all forgetting Charlie Peavy. He made Bert Jones share time with Paul Lyons.
And if you don't remember this, Bert was the most talented QB to ever come to LSU.

Definitely more than old enough to remember Tepper, but he didn’t waste a Heisman Trophy winner and the top offense in the country. Have to go with House.

I don’t think he was that bad. That 2013 offense was pretty great. Les got his paws on the offense after that.
