Chris still holds the high school record of 283 consecutive free throws made.

I went to high school with him, they would start every practice and you had to hit 10 in a row before Coach Jenkins would allow you to join the rest of the team. You would shoot until you missed, guys would earn special t shirts for hitting 25, 50 and so on. They also had a board in the gym that would show every player that had hit 25 or more and listed how many. They day CJ hit the 283 Coach stopped practice and just had the team watch him, once he finally missed they all went home. The team FT shooting percentage was insane, one of the key factors in Jenkins winning 7 State titles in 28 years and an overall record of 866-180.
Couldn't afford them after some unexpected expenses in the athletics department this season.

Morning All - Safe travels if applicable. I get the joy of a connection to Gulfport thru ATL tonight, probably no more of a zoo than it normally is.
Turkey tomorrow, South State HS football championship Friday and golf Saturday....my kinda long weekend. Throw in a coaching announcement and it could be even better.

Just reading that name made me wanna turn off my Jefferson Pilot broadcast.
I moved to Johnson City 24 years ago (from Atlanta), have said for the last 20 years that I was moving back "home" to the gulf coast...yet here I am. It's hard to leave this area, I still don't really consider it home, I've just been on a long vacation that unfortunately requires I work a full time job while visiting.

I had the complete set (28) , took forever to finally get the last one, was probably 1981-82...the Houston Oilers - pretty sure I showed what a nerd I was as I ran thru the store singing the Houston Oilers fight song (no idea why I even knew it). "Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers!" Looking back it just reminds me of how much fun it was to try to collect something and it taking such a long time, it created a memory - now all you have to do is go to feebay and buy what you want.

2 things I would put money on.

Someone would stand up and others behind them would let them have it "sit down!!".

Someone would get off the bus early (maybe at a rest stop), we all know LSU fans suck and will not stick around for the whole game.
Chris Jackson
Jacob Hester
Warren Morris - at least my favorite highlight to watch.
Big Baby
Todd Walker

lsursb I agree with all of what you said and I have limited knowledge of this years team, I really havent followed them that closely. That said the thing that stood out the most to me is the 27 of 74 shooting and I am gonna guess that 15-20 of those missed shots were inside of 5 feet, some were point blank with no one covering them. It was painful to watch.

What became of her in the 2nd half? They said on the radio that she didn't play much, if at all, after her early flurry...

She got a little sloppy with the ball and turned it over a few times, the coach set her down after that.
Yep, I was to the right of them. Dude and friend a few rows above me, guy with young daughter in cheerleading uni one row above me. Good to know there are a few of us up here.

I imagine I saw you then, there was only about 10 of us scattered about and then coaches family behind the bench.

I was at the game and can tell you LSU could not buy a basket under the goal, I dont know what the stats will say but I would bet they are not pretty.

With regards to the number of 3's given up ETSU hit 3 in the first two or three minutes, all of the by a freshman, Cara Bowling.

Just glad LSU pulled out the win, I woulda never heard the end of it if they didn't.

A game I will never forget. My wife and I had made the trip from ATL to Baton Rouge for the Arky game and ended up sitting in the Alumni Box...thought we were big stuff getting to sit up there with Dr Roberts and others and enjoyed watching LSU race out to a 28-0 halftime lead over the West Champions and with this we secured the Bowl invite from the Indy Bowl. I can not tell you how excited I was to go to that bowl game, made the drive from ATL (it seemed like the longest drive of my life) with my wife and a friend. The game was awesome, yes it was cold but that made the experience all that much better. I just posted on FB the other day the memory of going out on the field when the game was over...it was like we won the NC!
