If all offers are equal then why didn’t he announce he was staying at OM?

I have read that offers are the same between OM Fla and LSU. I’ve spoken to some friends who have connections to OM and they contend that OM stepped up with pay and promise to fund NIL to what Kiffin wanted. I feel confident that the numbers are all real close.

If that’s true or if OM is even close in numbers and he wanted to stay there, he would have told them on Friday in that meeting. Reason being is that they’re about to play big rival and at the threshold of the playoffs so there’s a lot on the line. With that setting and a nice raise, OM is in the cat bird seat.

But no committment.

Only 2 conclusions- Kiffin is either leaving or he’s lying to us and/or Fla.

If the latter, we will destroy him when we play them.

He has plenty of money, but can't get enough attention.

He’s not going back to Ole Miss. Call would have been made already. He’s burned his bridge in Oxford.

90% chance he’s LSU’s next HC. 10% chance some funny business is going on and he goes to Florida, or UT opens up and he goes there or some garbage.

Because he’s trying to get more money. He’s got a good agent. The longer this goes on, the more money he gets

Because he's not staying there.

For the record, I don't think all offers are truly equal. I think all annual salaries are, but I wonder about that too because we're giving him 14 million per season

Because he isn’t staying. He told them and that’s why the press release is worded the way it is.

Greater chance of wining, larger program, bigger stadium, more prestige, more spotlight on him. It’s the narcissistic ego in all successful coaches.

I think you are right.

Just because the story is out there that Ole Miss is matching LSU's offer, doesn't mean it's true.

Ole Miss's NIL is not where LSU's is. The promised money might be the same, but there is a structure in which NIL gets to the athletes. LSU has been working on theirs for years and has the structure in place. Also, when it comes to high school recruiting, Mississippi does not allow NIL. Louisiana does and LSU uses that to help lock up instate talent.

At the end of the day you have a coach who is on record saying he cares most about his ability to attract and bring in talent. LSU has it's college athlete NIL structure in place, it has the promised money, and it has the better high school talent instate with a nicely funded collective that is being used to lock up instate talent. Case in point, we've been without a coach for a month and we haven't lost a single instate recruit and actually flipped one to us.

It's not a money issue. OM, UF, and LSU will all be comparable. It's a talent acquisition issue and LSU is at the forefront of that. OM is not in the catbird seat otherwise the extension would be signed. This is a race between LSU, UF, and the NFL for Lane. We'll find out Saturday, where he wants to be.

This is not the kind of attention he likes. I think he’s probably pretty miserable right now. It appears he’s coming here, I believe currently. he thinks he’s coming here. But a last minute mind-change would not surprise me in the slightest. Neither would it becoming so toxic in Oxford that he winds up not coaching in the Egg Bowl.

I don’t think anything is close to being a “done deal.” Even if the players in this situation honestly believe it is.

Not unless Sark goes to the NFL and that won't be known until after the NFL season in late December.
