Is NC State a better basketball job? What would it take to get him back? I feel like he’s gonna kill it at NCST and then go to a Kentucky or something

I figure NC State is tired of sucking hind tit to Duke and UNC and brought Wade in to make them the top dog so they’ll give him whatever he ask for to make it happen. If he come back to LSU he’ll be coaching a program that will always be #2 on campus, at NC State he’ll be the big man on campus. I just don’t think LSU can offer him what he’ll get if he’s successful with the Wolfpack. Unless the wheels completely fall off I don’t think he leaves there except for a Blue Blood job.

Wade has a realistic chance. Absolutely. If we have an opening.

Sad thing is the basketball school is paying him less than we did

If he thrives there it won't be his last stop. If he doesn't, he won't be someone we'd target in the future. We'd have to make a move this upcoming opening (assuming McMahon is fired)

It's also not clear what kind of relationship he had with Verge. After his own compliance scandal, not sure if Verge would be enthused with the notion of going back down that path (as fun as it would be)

Also, and this is wild to type - his path to 20-win seasons and indefinite job security might be more straightforward in the ACC than the gauntlet the SEC has turned into. He may value some stability for a while, it's easy to forget he's only 42

Zero chance. He is in an athletic department that prioritizes basketball.

He’s battling UNC and Duke and Wake in recruiting. Much easier here.

Yes it is a very realistic option. The biggest hurdle would be if he ends up really loving it in Raleigh. Right now he is making less than CMM. Wade Rousse becoming Pres drastically increased the chances WW comes bak.

NC State being a basketball school is nothing to brag about. They are just a low tier program when it comes to sports. They’ll never get on the level of Duke, UNC. He’s getting paid less than when he was at LSU (4th biggest sport at LSU). I think anything is possible especially with his relationship with the new President Rousse.

Five years ago, I would say no way, but SEC is now the premier basketball conference. Also, the new arena will be built in the next four years and with the new president, he will upgrade facilities, however Wade wants.

I think the biggest factor is if Wade falls in love with Raleigh, like someone else said
