Can anyone here admit that a lot of hardworking young people are fricked?

Even well established older baws are feeling the strain these days. Now imagine you have no built up wealth, and are just starting out.
And before y’all pretend to be “welders who knew better”, let’s not act like almost everyone on this board didn’t go to LSU with a business degree or similar back in the day.

it's actually easier than ever to be successful even though carter, clinton, obama, and biden ruined the country by getting rid of jobs and making everything too expensive

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

“Just build you own house by hand! They did it in the Wild West! This is how America has always worked!”
- 67 year old whose first “adult” job was enough for a down payment and monthly on a 2 bed room. But don’t live somewhere rural or it’s trashy to them also!

Everyone starts out like this.

Everyone in YOUR generation could start out like that and make it. And you guys really didn’t start at the same point at all. Out of touch.
ETA: So you geriatric folks can understand. Someone can start out with nothing, but have a lower bar to reach than someone starting out later and more opportunity to reach it. That’s what you had while watching Gillian’s Island every night.

Not sure what's worse...hearing Roger talk about picking yourself up by your bootstrap, or hearing mingo whine all day on a message board when he should be working

A lot of people were too young to remember that things weren’t all sunshine and rainbows for their parents when they were starting out and had their first kid.
Then things stabilized and got better as their parents progressed in their careers and built things up for their families.
Now people think it should be “like their parents or grandparents” had it, but they’re remembering things after their parents had been working at it for a while.
They think they should be able to live right away as if they’ve been working at it for a decade plus.

No. You are what you choose be and what you are willing to work for and what sacrifices you are willing to make. I started working at 13 and retired at 61 and living a very comfortable life.

It sucks but if they’re hardworking and focus on what they can control, they’ll be alright. There are people in this world that will always find a way to be successful, and I can guarantee they aren’t going to be the ones sitting around feeling sorry for themselves.
Everybody would be better off focusing on what’s in their control instead of comparing themselves to other people. Whether it’s other generations or other people’s possessions, somebody is always going to have it better than you.

Hard working people are never fricked. Anyone who thinks they are isn’t hard working.

Nothing is preventing anyone from having a well paying job if you’re willing to put in the grind when you’re younger.
Starting out with a family in your early 20’s is a struggle. But by the time you’re in your mid 40’s, the only thing stopping you from a 6 figure income is yourself.

It isnt guaranteed for anyone.
I had to do 3 restarts in life.
Not my own of my own fault.
All of my buddies growing up, we all had to do restarts in our 30s.
We are in our early 40s.
We arent out of the woods yet.
The compaines I work for want young Men, not 40,50 or 60 year old men.
You can tell its getting bad, I see more more grey hair`d folk working minimum wage jobs.
RIght now, Companies are trying to squeeze even more.

This is one of the good things about Unions. They stop age discrimination.

This kind of thinking is exactly where the disconnect lies. A 6 figure income is just barely scraping by these days.
Dallas morning news just did a survey and it said a middle class family of 5 needed to make $265k per year to feel that they weren’t living month to month

It wasn’t that long ago. Many people built their own homes. But you’re so soft as baby shite you can’t fathom that.
