Well for one if no one from Ole Miss leaked this to publicly force Lane into a corner to decide to begin with none of this would've gone down. It's obvious that Lane wanted to finish out the season and just focus on football while weighing his options. Carter and the admins wouldn't see it that way. Could've handled it internally and been done with it. The noise would've been there regardless.
Also, Lane didn't really handle this situation that great himself. He could've given a generic answer saying we're focused on coaching the team and etc. Yet, here we are.
I do hate it for the players, but as some have mentioned, there are others who have chosen to opt out before the season is over. But the admins have put them in a rough spot here.
Not sure what Kiffin does. He may decide to stay after this, but damn man you've burned some bridges over there. Not sure what LSU has going on, but whatever it is, hope they have all their ducks in a row just in case.

Al Davis was a mental patient that conned Lane into leaving SC then forcing Jamarcus on him tanking the entire enterprise.
