Train Dreams (2025)-Netflix with Joel Edgerton

Wow. This hit me in the feels this morning. It won’t be for everybody and most will think it boring, but it paints a beautiful portrait of life in early 1900s America for somebody trying to find meaning in their life.
It’s sad but thoughtful. As a man growing up waiting for some kind of revelation as to what his life means, going through pain and heartache as the years pass by to find yourself as an old man still wondering. Until one day it hits that being a part of this world and experiencing its beauty and progression and feeling all it has to offer and being a part of something bigger than oneself should be enough for any man. Legacy or no.
Really good stuff and a great role for Edgerton. I immediately looked up Pacific Northwest cabins after finishing

They had an early screening at this local theater near me but I didn’t see the announcement in time to get tickets. Joel and the director were there and did a Q&A afterwards. Didn’t realize it was dropping this weekend. Will definitely check it out.

Think its good but with Edgerton being over 50, its a weird role for that age.

Wish I could see this in Imax. Unfotunatly, it will probably be watched on a home TV, which is a bummer.

Same, I have a two year old daughter who is my first and only child so far and this movie wrecked me.

Amazing film, lot of emotion but amazing picture. I live in the PNW and see old logging sites all the time.
Made me think of the life many of them had in those days.

This was one of the best movies Netflix has put out in a long time. Excellent performance by Edgerton. Macy and Patton as the narrator stole the show for me.

Bump. Wife and I watched this last night. It was slow, tough on the feels, and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this one.

Loved this one.. I don't watch many movies but had a few friends recommend it so gave it a shot.
