My simple way of looking at this whole coach situation:

Rolex watches are nice, but I don’t need a big flashy watch calling attention to itself when I can get a quality watch for a lot less that keeps time just as well. We also don’t need the repair bill every year (i.e., contract extension) to keep the Rolex working.

I don’t want LSU to get a Timex (Sumrall) or a fake Rolex (yes, that’s you Brian Kelly), just get a good Seiko watch that gets the job done and doesn’t scream for attention . . . I’d say Dillingham and Brohm are good quality Seiko watches that won’t break the bank and don’t want to be the center of attention when they walk into a room.

And no, I have no freaking clue who LSU ends up getting.

Thanks for clearing that part up. Your incredibly well thought out analogy had me thinking you must be close to the situation.

I get your point, and it’s valid.

The difficulty is determining where the coaches actually belong as far as category.

You’re assuming coaches like Sumrall, Golesh, etc are Timex but are they really? We’ll find out.

Terrible analogy.

that keeps time just as well

And most folks with nice watches aren’t wearing them just to keep time. But whatever you say…
