Interesting fact: Johnson walked over the exact spot that John Quincy Adams died in that video. It’s in the statute room. That’s where the original House of Reps was located.

Adams served in congress long after his presidency and died at his desk.

I wonder if there is any consideration given to the fact that the reps in the video were former mil / ic people. It isn't like they are AOC or someone with a strictly civilian background.

I'm certain a lot of care went into the crafting of that PSA, shopped and reviewed by a multitude of attorneys in order to barely put a toenail over the line.

Every damned one of them should be stripped of every committee assignment and expelled.

If anything, they know better and their punishment should be as harsh at it can be... the former military should be recalled to active duty and court martialed...

Republican politicians: "Political violence has become all too common in American society, and this is not who we are."

Democratic politicians: “No one has to carry out orders that violate the law, or our Constitution”

It sure a hell was...

They said nothing about a specific order.

Shouting "fire" to incite fear and panic when there is no fire is an "Act of Incitement."

"Incitement" is not protected free speech under the first amendment..

When a group encourages blanket insubordination it is a form of "RICO Incitement to Sedition."

Not a death sentence, but still a first degree felony punishable by a possible lengthy jail sentence..

Sure, that should be taken into consideration. It means they can be tried under the UCMJ.

I think you need to look at the applicable laws. A case could be made and a good one.

How can saying "march peacefully" fit the definition of inciting an insurrection?

I don't know. I don't know where that's happened and I certainly haven't made that argument

10 U.S. Code § 892 - Art. 92. Failure to obey order or regulation

Any person subject to this chapter who—
(1)violates or fails to obey any lawful general order or regulation;
(2)having knowledge of any other lawful order issued by a member of the armed forces, which it is his duty to obey, fails to obey the order; or
(3)is derelict in the performance of his duties;
shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

The critical requirement for dereliction is that the order be lawful. Refusing to obey an unlawful order is not a violation of the law.
