Shouldn’t we have received the official news of whoever the coach will be by now? Will this delay impact signing class/portal window? I like and hope we get Kiffin but I haven’t felt at all in his interviews that he’s going to make a switch to a new school. Hoping I’m wrong

Seriously? The chances of LSU naming a coach before December were extremely low.

There is no way in hell that you are going to announce a new head coach that is currently in the middle of their season. The earliest would be after the OU game unless it was a coach who isn't currently coaching (i.e. VTech hiring Franklin).

Chill out, relax, and enjoy the ride. You'll have your answer within 10 days.

The coaches who they could possibly hire still have games left in the regular season.

If it’s indeed Kiffin…. I’m pretty sure Ole Miss is the one who has to take public “action” first. Kiffin wants to coach the playoffs.

Again… IF it’s Kiffin, it’s probably a waiting game now to see what Ole Miss does or doesn’t do and if they carry through with their threat when he doesn’t sign the extension.

I don’t see any scenario that LSU and/or Kiffin release or announce that he has taken the LSU job before that, because it would likely result in Ole Miss not letting him coach the playoffs.

Isn’t there money on the Ole Miss side to figure out?

Doubt he can walk away for free (though do not know).

So, does he quit? Does OM fire him?

You realize teams that fired their coaches before LSU did haven’t hired anyone yet either, right? Virginia tech is really the only well known school to make a hire.

Most coaches have post-season bonus incentives in their contacts placed there by agents that get their juice.

Saban excluded, any top candidate for the HC job at LSU should be working in the post-season IMHO.

Eat some turkey. Drink some eggnog. Outdo your neighbor's fireworks.

When you make a HC change mid-season, it's a marathon.

Jimbo left FSU a week early, but they wasn't going to the CFP.

One word .. Buyout.

Keep in mind, our governor railed on Kelly's Buyout and how horrible it was. I guarantee we are trying to get a contract with a reduced or no buyout. Jimmy Sexton ain't going for it.

I worried about this from the start.
