What should I buy? Just to keep in the bedside stand , just in case. Much thicker than going get
The shotgun out the closet
Let’s keep it simple…
Example:: Beretta 9mm
Not: Beretta model 2450 sr5 9mm etc etc etc…
Just the basics please. As you can tell I’m not very knowledgeable on the subject….

The thicker is quicker. I’ve got so many handguns that would work as a nightstand gun but none are under $400. I have a VP9 9mm and sig scorpion 1911 45. Those have been my his and her’s for a while.
Then I keep a 870 tactical under the bed if they get through my wife

For a bed side gun
Wtf?
I’m going full size or close to it with max capacity.

S&W M&P 9mm
ETA: $400 makes it tough. You can find one for close to that, especially if you buy used.

I choose something simple and have a S&W 38 special revolver on my nightstand.

Full size PSA dagger is probably be best for the money.
If a semi auto pistol with no safety sounds concerning to you, a beretta 92FS could maybe be found on sale for that price.

Gunzonedeals.com has the 92Xi for $544.00 with a $75 rebate
Edit. No sales tax there either

Glock 19 with metal mag. 16 rounds. A little more than $400 but not much. You want it to work if you need it.

I believe bama's gun sale thread had that in it a few weeks ago.
It might have been $500, or a taurus for $400, I don't remember exactly. There's people around here better qualified for that work.

You aren't getting a 19 for $400 anymore. You could get one of the .40 models for that.
Why a metal mag? The glock factory mags work great.

A few places will have limited gun sales on Black Friday Week. Bass Pro Shops usually has some.

Ruger RXM. It's reliable (glock gen 3 clone) and has a modular FCU so you can change out grips on it
