Door Knob Screws Constantly Coming Loose

I have to retighten them weekly. Is there something I can use to keep them tight longer WITHOUT completely glueing them in so I can still get them out in the future without stripping the screws?

I used orange loctite on one of mine, high strength but removeable without heat. Probably going to snap the chinesium screws next time I take the lock set off that door but when that happens the whole door is going to the dump anyway.

I'm probably just going to put a little honey in the hole. And see how that works.

You can use some Elmer's school glue, or even a piece of scotch tape. Both will lock in the threads yet will be easily removed.

I had this problem years ago and had no LockTite. The wife had an unused bottle of nail polish and I used a tiny bit of that. Worked well.

Shove part of a toothpick in the hole, then screw it in

clear fingernail polish works just like the blue Locktite, and most people's wife have this lying around the house.

I have had this problem in the past. Could be one of the}ree things:
The screws are stretching.
The trim ring on the knob is soft.
The door is compressing.
In my case it was the third item. Every time I tightened the knob, the door would compressing a little more, and it would become loose again.
I just ended up running a tiny bead of clear silicone under the edge of the trim plates (both inside and outside). The door still compresses, but the trim plates no longer get crooked, so you can’t see it.

Beat your kids asses for slamming the doors!
Clean screws with alcohol and run a coat of blue loctite.
Even red loctite isn’t permanent so use it if blue won’t hold.

Used it in a pinch for a screw in my glasses. Lasted forever.
The wife did wonder where her clear polish disappeared to; I still use it for various things and have it in the junk/house-tools drawer.
