Verge has to give Kiffin a deadline

He’s going to frick LSU over in recruiting and finding our preferred 2nd choice if we wait and drag this out much longer.

No.
And the season hasn’t ended yet.
The second choice probably has 2 games left.

I’m with you Bro. Kiffin is a good coach but he’s not that good…

That’s an easy way to push him to UF. Whatever he decides, I think we will have a resolution by the egg bowl

The longer we wait, the more likely it is that our second choice is either scooped up by someone else or signs an extension. This is business and they have to make a business decision soon. I say we need a decision by the end of this week.

He’s probably going to Florida anyway. If we’re all being honest, Kiffin and Florida fit together perfectly. Besides, I’ve never received a job offer that didn’t expire.

Yes, because it worked so well for Ole Miss

I’m not concerned about him going to Florida. If Kiffin were capable of winning a championship at Ole Miss, he would’ve done it by now. He’s not Saban or Kirby — he’s basically a Sark clone. He’s not winning a title at Florida or Ole Miss. Florida fits Kiffin he just doesn’t know if he wants the rebuild. If Lane thought he could get by Georgia and Kirby he would be at Florida. He isn't sure he wants to go head to head with Kirby and he knows he can’t win a championship at Ole Miss.

Broski, you’re firing off posts every 12 minutes. Step away from the keyboard and go touch some grass… hell, even go fishing. It’s a done deal!

Why would he give Kiffin a deadline if Ole Miss already has?

There's two months until the season ends. No matter when it happens, recruiting is gonna be a little screwy this year

You've never been the top head coaching candidate for a top tier college football program.
Your reality is not the same as the candidates we are going after.

You are the damn LSU version of Finch.

This situation has many folds, Verge giving a deadline is not one of them.
Kiffin has two huge choices here…
1) Unimpeded competition with recruiting and a history of championships. More NIL money than he can spend combined with salary. You just have to win.
2) Heavy competition with recruiting. Similar salary with close NIL but schedule complicates championships. Winning/losing isn’t tied to being fired necessarily, but expectations are present. Ex-wife loves it there.
If Kiffin is about the chase and getting out from under other’s (Father, Saban, Meyer, Spurrier) shadow, LSU gives you the best opportunity/path. If Kiffin wants to please everyone around him and the championship is a bonus then UF is the choice.
LSU is Kiffin’s best shot back to the pros as well. Win 2 championships and every NFL team with a vacancy will be calling. I would argue the quickest way to pursue that path is with LSU instead of UF. FSU & UM aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. FSU is likely to hire a new coach within the next 2 years if not sooner. Do you really want to go through the SEC gauntlet and then have to play FSU or Miami on top of recruiting against them? I don’t think so. ThrowUSF into the mix and it’s a no win scenario for a total rebuild at UF. That would take some serious time and foundation laying.
LSU is always 1-2 years away from a championship. Always. The state’s talent and money is top 3 in the country. We have witnessed two championship teams with BK get absolutely squandered at LSU. All the regional coaches know it. Even Kiffin has made remarks about the roster. The clear choice is LSU. Only question is, does Kiffin still want a championship chase or does he want a check. Ball is in his court.
