Would you hold out on making a decision until you see which school it’s willing to make the best offer?? If ole miss offer is 13.5 then Florida offers 14 mil then lsu offers 15 would you stop or just wait it out until somone is willing to stop going higher??? Just asking because I’m wondering if this could be the reason for him not making a decision yet.

I’d try to find gratitude in the situation in which I find myself.

Then do what’s best for my family.

I believe him when he says its not about money at this point. The number will just be for ego.

He wants the biggest stage with the best opportunity to win. I also think he wants to see how far he can bring his team this year, which is what makes this an agonizing waiting game for LSU.

I go coach when I know I can definitely win a National Championship. So I’d choose between LSU and Florida. Then it comes down to which one excites you the most.

He hasn't made a decision yet, because he doesn't have to.

I don't think an extra $1M is going to make a difference. I think he wants to know what resources he will have to go get the players he wants.

LSU has reportedly showed him what they are willing to do with regard to NIL and he knows that LA is a hotbed of talent.

I think he is having conversations with the UF and OM people about what they can/can't do regarding player acquisition while all this circus is going on.

If im Kiffin im going to Florida.

Hes been chasing the Spurrier persona for years and it doesnt get any more perfect than going to his old stomping grounds.

I would get Ole Miss to pay me as much as the other guys are willing to.

I’m saying in Mississippi. $1.5M not a big deal when you are talking about that kind of money. If you win 9 to 10 games a year you’re a god. If you do that at LSU, they’ll run you out of town.

At some point you bankrupt the support system and set exceedingly high expectations with little to no patience.

A HC needs coaching staff, facilities, and NIL. If the HC takes all the money then he has no bullets in his gun. Same thing as seeing a generational player get an astronomical contract and there being nothing left to get supporting players.

I'm staying at OM, he has it good. They are satisfied with what he has done there, I do believe with the expanded playoff OM chances of winning a natty are increased exponentially

I really don’t think $ will be the deciding factor for Lane, but it is nice that he will be getting a raise either way

Have a family meeting and make sure everyone's voice is heard. Clearly LK has made it clear with ESPN specials and interviews that he is a family first man.

THEN PACK UP THE ASTROVAN, CUT OFF YOUR BEST PAIR OF WRANGLERS, GRAB SOME GOOBER PEAS, AND SET OFF FOR HOGTOWN.

That’s exactly what I would do and probably why we will never be as rich as Lane. To be in coaching at his level you have to be self centered for the amount of time you are away from your family. You have to be ok with not seeing your kids grow up. I couldn’t do that.

It's a crazy hard decision if it's all similar money.
So many factors to consider.
One is your reputation and if he is trying to run away from his past actions like running away from Tenn for USC. Then getting canned at USC and needing Saban to help you. You take HC job at FIU as Bama is going to playoffs and Saban tells you to take a hike.

Leaving a playoff team as the HC is a hard pill to swallow. If you bail on them then your new team might not buy into you if they suspect you will leave if the NFL comes knocking.

I would be going to an hour away from the ocean or 30 minutes! Used to be we could sell New Orleans being one hour away as a great thing, but that ship sailed. Hopefully it will return to Port soon.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I have always operated under a sense of loyalty so I wouldn't even entertain a conversation until after the regular season. And if my team was in the playoff that would be almost a non-starter.

But thats mainly due to the industry I am in. If I was a Coach I might have a different mentality but hard to imagine a world where I would be willing to make a move while the season is going on.
