This might hurt in the short term, but I believe our only step forward is complete rebuild around Fears and Queen. What does this mean?

1) Trade Zion. Fat (ish now), lazy, one dimensional offensively, defensive liability, and a bad (or at least doesnt move the needle) leader. You don't see other team leaders act so removed as Zion does. This kills team culture.

2) Trade Trey. Yes, this dude can SCORE. But as good as he is offensively, he's just as bad defensively. Bad defense + inability to handle the ball = overpaid. Trey is best as a spot up shooter, I wish he could add more Siakam style to his game, but I don't think it's there.

3) Trade Herb. He'd be a great compliment to both Fears and Queen and I think he's a great complimentary role player, but he doesn't fit the timeline. I also think he'd be one of our biggest assets in terms of a return.

4) Trade Poole for whatever you can get. Late first? Early second? Salary dump? Doesn't matter. Either take what you can, or let him expire.

The pieces don't fit. The team is terrible. There is currently no light at the end of the tunnel. Something must be done.

You keep Trey. He will continue to get better. Even if its not a fit 2 years from now then you trade him but not now.

Zion and Herb should absolutely be traded before the trade deadline.

If we trade Z and Herb then we don't technically have to trade Poole at the moment. It could be offseason or next season.

We still have yet to see our best chemistry/ lineups because the best player on our team (Murray) is still out. Once he comes back then we have Fears/ DJ running the team for 48 min.

No reason to trade Trey. The assets you can get from Z/ Herb/ Poole are plenty along with 85mil this year and like $100mil next year.

You trade Missi 100x before trading Trey.

I think they keep Trey because he can fit on most teams. Zion and Herb will likely be gone this year. I just don’t trust Dumars to make the right moves.

1. yes

2. no, not yet.

3. yes lately he is so bad offensively that teams are letting him shoot from outside. Kinda hurts because he is so good defensively

4. yes/no kinda don't care. If you can get positive return then yes

5. Dump Hawk too

Build around Queen and Fears for sure

Absolutely, although i don't think you're getting much for him.

I would say do what you can to trade him now, and if you don't, then you try again in the offseason, even if for peanuts, and if you can't get anything then just cut him. He absolutely should not be on this team to start next year no matter what.

2) Trade Trey

No. good player, good contract. still young.

3) Trade Herb

If you can get 2 1sts for him, then yes. Anything less and i just don't see the point.

4) Trade Poole

Should have never brought him in, and yes, he should be traded as he is redudant with Fears and just takes minutes from him, plus he's a chucker and not a winning basketball player.

I think you also need to move on from Dejounte as well, and i doubt he wants to continue in New Orleans anyway. It would be nice to see him play with Fears and Queen later this season, but it's probably for the best if he just doens't play this year and we trade him in the offseason. I think it's pretty apparent that Fears and Queen need the ball in their hands, and Murray isn't an off ball type of player.

The only current players I want to see on the roster next year are
Fears
Queen
Trey
Jose
Missi
Bey
Karlo

Herb and Hawkins are fine as well, but i wouldn't be upset if they weren't on the team anymore. I also want to give Dejounte a chance to stay if he wants to.

FYI: I hate Jordan Hawkins buthe did his best to convince me otherwise last night. If he was even just a bad defender/ rebounder I'd give him a chance but even a bad defensive player looks like an allstar in comparison.

At this point the only untouchables would be Fears, Queen and Trey.

I don’t trust Dumars to make that many trades and it turn out any better than where we already are

I don’t think you have to trade Trey or Herb, they are good players on more than fair contracts. The real issue with the team right now is that between Zion, Dejounte, and Poole you have 65% of your payroll sitting on the bench injured. It may be difficult, but I would try to find a way to get as much value as you can while getting those three off the roster. Hopefully then you can recoup a few picks, free up some money, and start to really build around fears and Queen with Herb and Trey as effective role players.

I love Herb but I think he can be easily replaced with Peavy. Who has more upside

For sure not on board with a fire sale, but two of Husky,Poole,Tre, and Herb are likely not for long. Husky for sure, but unfortunately Herb is probably Pels best trade asset due to his defensive skill and contract. Dumars brought end Poole so he may stay.

I'm not sure why folks are in disbelief of the poor product. This was inevitable with all of the organizations moves to coddle Husky. Again, I'm a big fan of Husky and really hope he gets his health and head together, but his time is up here.

Pels, should look to get back in the first round, get a good young prospect, and a vet who will give them more presence and support in the paint and on the boards. I really like Queen and Fears, they are young and need to get a lot stronger, but have tons of skill and talent. Hopefully Dumars doesn't make the same mistake as the former regime and can instill in them specifically and the the team that they need to be competent and compete on both ends.

Typical Dan. Person makes a standard reply and he drops a "OK WHAT THE DO YOU WANT???"

I think he's just mad because before the season started he had the Pels as a team with 3 potential all stars and this gem of a take..

quote:

Not better than us:
Utah
SAC
GSW
POR
PHX

LAC
MEM
LAL

Better than us:
OKC
HOU
DEN (close)
MIN (close)

Equals:
DAL
SAS
PELS

Pels are also easily top 5 in total assets/ future assets in the West:

In his defense, nothing wrong with trying to be positive about the team you pull for. But when you go around calling everyone a fricking retard all the time it gets pretty old. Dude has become more tiresome than Yaz was.

I'll never understand this theory. How is he more valuable than guys like Dillon Brooks or Thybulle? They are defensive specialists with limited offensive games. No matter how good your defense is, it's hard being a good starter averaging less than 10ppg. Who's giving a big package for Jones?

We need to totally clean house. Trade everyone except Fears, Queen and maybe Missi. Suck hard for the next 3-4 years. Take bad contracts for picks.

Build a war chest and develop young guys. Look at the Rockets, they went through 4 years of absolute shite but had a long term view and have come out the other side as one of the best in the league with a ton of assets.

Dumars cannot spend more assets on this piece of shite roster. He needs to accept that

Thybulle cant do ANYTHING but defend. Herb has a decent handle and more offensive IQ.

He's also a better team player than Brooks, but I can't say that he's more valuable. For instance, Herb would have worked on the old Spurs teams, Brooks would not, IMO.

Not this year. He is coasting and not stopping anybody. He should have been benched weeks ago. Play him in short bursts off the bench. He's being asked to do too much and getting worse..
