IMO
Heupel, Riley, Sumrall, Brady, Golesh, and Hartline.

I think Kiffin and Sexton are playing LSU.

I’m not saying he’d come, but why not reach out to a guy like Matt LaFleur. Great offensive mind. Young guy. Baton Rouge is 100X better place to live than Green Bay. Go get him the best DC (maybe Baker) and let him use his NFL experience to set up player personnel system and attract national recruiting interest at both the high school level and in portal. If we’re going to swing let’s swing.

You should always have other options. Hope they do at least. Think Sumrall will likely go to Auburn. Not sure how real the Heupel interest is. Riley could likely be in the playoffs himself if everything pans out. Golesh could be an option, however does the FSU job become available soon? Idk. Haven't heard what they may do there. Would think if that came available, he could go for that job.

Have too much PTSD from the other coaching searches that I try to remain cautiously optimistic but realize this is all part of the process. You naturally go after the big fish and if they tell you no, then keep it moving. Is what it is.

Why?

Because some here are suggesting we do our homework, look below the surface, and consider multiple candidates?

example...the idiots saying eric morris...the same coach that has 2 losing seasons of the three he has been at UNT, same guy that has only won seven games twice in 7 seasons? But yea lets hire the guy who is having this 1 good season in g5...since that always works out.

then you have people suggesting mike bobo....the same guy that has bounced around CFB because he is not a good OC...but sure lets make him HC

there are plenty of good candidates just most on here suck fricking arse picking them. If you want to go outside the SEC you go get dillingham or fisch if it must be a Offensive coach.

yea the winning 7 games twice in 7 seasons as HC screams #1 right? or was it the two losing seasons he had before this year that made you think he was awesome?

The most successful HC's of the modern day are Defensive specialists...

Saban
Smart
Lanning
Orgeron (yes I included him and his natty)

Offensive gurus
Day
Dabo
Kiffin
Cristobal
Sark
Riley
Kelly

I wouldn’t call Dabo an offensive guru. He recruited well for a while but he had one half a season as interim OC in 2008. Other than that he’s been a WR coach and a glorified cheerleader as HC. He hit on his coordinator hires like O did. It’s being exposed the last couple years. Don’t want him nowhere near lsu.

Cristobal and Kelly also. They are as good as their coordinator hires. Cristobal spent one season as Co-OC in 2017. Other than that he’s a great o line coach and recruiter. Not some master playcaller.

And to the guy ragging Eric Morris, UNT just switched from CUSA to the AAC in 2023 which is a step up in competition. Morris was hired in 2022 right before that transition. Since 2023 his record has improved every year against stiffer competition. He’s only 40, has been a HC at multiple stops and keeps getting promoted up. Has was the OC for cam ward and pat mahomes. Context is important.
