10-1 team at home watching him kick the tires of two other schools. He really doesn’t give af

No I think Ole Miss forced the situation

Have to believe the rumors of the Ole Miss admins forcing his hand are real.

Or he’s just doing his due diligence.

The way that the tweets are just throwing jet fuel on the fire around his current program is unsettling also. I hate Ole Miss more than the next guy but this doesn’t feel like the way to do it imo

Every coach in his position is getting a raise. It's Ole Miss making public comments attacking him giving him no choice but to go to LSU/Florida. They're making him the villain.
Name me 1 coach who isn't going to take the opportunity to get a pay raise especially a Sexton client. It's not his fault media and Ole Miss won't shut up about it.
Do I think he's any less a scumbag? No, and I honestly don't give a shite if he wins here. You deserve every penny you get if he's winning.
If anything, this shows how Ole Miss is amateurs and never dealt with this before. This is your price for success. You just pissed away your best coach in decades.

This. Should've just left him alone.

Shitting the bed. I can believe that when your entire football identity is sailing away. OM really hasnt been relative in football for 60+ years, and their slim chance to make some noise this season is less valuable than acting like jilted brides trying to strong arm a HC that doesn't want to be there anymore.

My thoughts on him leaving are as follows:
It’s gotta be hard, as a coach, to look your team in the eyes and tell them you might be leaving for what you perceive to be a better opportunity… there’s always gonna be that player/coach bond that’s hard to turn your back on and break….
On the other hand, when you consider the fact that it’s likely half of Ole Miss’ roster is transfers and have likely done the very same thing to a different team, I think the reasoning ‘we are in a completely new era’ comes into play
Is it right? Is it wrong? I’m not sure. Part of me thinks it’s wrong to turn your back on the bonds and relationships you’ve built, but when almost everyone in this industry is looking for their next paycheck or their next raise, I’d imagine a lot of these guys understand that this move is par for the course these days
Not sure I could do it, but I could see it happening - guess it all comes down to what motivates Lane and what he wants to do with his career. Maybe he considers LSU/UF as destination jobs with nothing superior to them… maybe he’ll do the same to his new team in 5 years… who the hell knows

Did you forget his entire Tennessee era?

Just to be clear.
I would BE VERY VERY HAPPY with LSU and KIFFIN play the villain role. It's a great place to be. I even think it fits our vibe.

In order for Ole Miss to force the situation, they need some kind of leverage, unfortunately for them they have none. Lane has all the leverage.

But is anyone surprised Lane is doing it this way? Isn't that troubling that it fits his personality and historical pattern of decision making?

Basically trolling at least two schools for no particular reason.

Today feels like the day BK was fired. It could happen. Or it could be a troll job. Best message board out there!
