I would have a lot of respect for Lane Kiffin if he stays at Mississippi.

I would have a lot of respect for Lane Kiffin if he ether stays at Ole Miss or goes to the NFL.

If he stays at Ole Miss, I think he would eventually go to the NFL.

However, going to the highest bidder, presumably between Miss, LSU, or Florida would be a move that doesn't speak of loyalty to anything other than money.

With the current state of college football, with money being everything, it would be encouraging to see someone set a standard of loyalty.

Not really. Competitors compete, and maybe he wants to join an arena where championship expectations yearly aren't just a talking point but realistic. Don't let insecure Ole Miss fans tell you otherwise - LSU and UF are both higher profile jobs. Lane has said in no uncertain terms in his press conferences.

Boo this man.

If I were in Kiffin's shoes, I'd go to the highest bidder in terms of combined salary package + pledged NIL yearly budget.

Which would you pick as a for instance (made up numbers):

OM: 14M salary + 20M NIL
LSU: 16M + 25M
FLA: 16M + 20M

Having a huge NIL wallet is as important as pay, if all things are pretty close otherwise. Imagine the new toys Lane could buy on the recruiting trail.

I’d look at it as he wants the easy way out and k ows that at Ole Miss 9 wins will have the happy, 8 wins and an egg bowl victory will have them happy.

It’s mediocrity

I’d respect him more for going after what he wants. He might envision things differently. I don’t really understand why people think he would want to go back to the NFL.

I'm sure your respect outweighs $10M.

I don’t ever see him leaving college football again

Going to take more than $25M NIL. Texas, A&M, Oregon, Ohio St and Texas Tech are currently in the $40M range.

I would have more respect for him if he came to BR and fielded an offense capable of throwing the ball past the los

Lsu spent 18 mil this yr. Say they spent 5 mil more on 3 linemen and the same money they spent on nuss on a better qb they would've been in a good spot.

They also spent money on the wrong receivers and tight end. But I don't think you need 40 mil to win a chip.

These takes are always funny to me because you suggest a man is supposed to stay at a less reputable football program and accept less money, while he has the options to elevate his professional position in every single way. Would you do that in your profession? Im guessing no.

He could come to LSU and make his own legacy. He could win MULTIPLE championships, and do things that other coaches havent been able to do.

Maybe he wants something a little more than just being "the best coach Ole Miss has ever had", and wants to try to establish himself in history books

I think taking Florida or LSU over OM would be more than just about the money. I’m sure he’s not content just going to the playoffs in years where he receives scheduling luck. That’s not going to happen that often.

Somehow, I doubt his decision will be influenced by your level of respect for HIS decision.
