Getting $10K to invest in December. Where would you put it?

I’m about to be 40. Girlfriend is 45.

Besides an index, where would you invest this?

Is this joint account?

Index is probably best unless you are going to follow things closely.

Even a good stock can go up or down 50% in any given year.

What is your current investment situation?
Are you maxing out 401 or IRA?
Are you funding an hsa?
What is your level of credit card debt?
Why not an index?

Palantir and Rigetti(Quantum computing) I predict Palantir will overtake NVDA and Quantum computing is a must for AI to function in space and cooling perspective. Five years from now AI will be much more advanced.

It will benefit the fast food industry greatly which is in a bad place right now with human employees, moral is very low!!

What's your theory here?

We have had machines that could flip burgers for decades, but they didn't invest in them because of cost.

Most of these restaurants already have digital ordering systems.

Already maxing out my 401K in an S&P index. Very familiar with them and a big proponent of index funds.

Looking at what other assets people on here would recommend.

Has a market cap of $200M. While I’m sure there could be an upside, I’m looking for more stability. But thank you for the recommendation.

If you do not have a ROTH IRA get one if you have earned income to report. You'll be glad in 20 years at 59 and half.

I agree as I own PLTR and QBTS but didnt want to scare the newbie. I think NVDA is a double from here and GOOGL is solid with Buffett buying
