[quote]Some slick Euro gambler named Bernard Marantelli and his Delaware shell corp Rook TX just pulled the ultimate middle finger to every broke-arse Texan buying scratch-offs at the gas station. The play: Lotto Texas jackpot hits $95M after 93 rollovers. 25.8M possible combos. Each ticket $1. The move: They printed 25.8 MILLION TICKETS in 72 hours. One pop-up Colleyville warehouse alone spat out $11M in tickets (4 per second) using iPads and QR codes. The math: Spent ~$25M, won $95M + $2.5M in small prizes. Net: $33M profit (pre-tax). Odds of losing: basically zero. Texas Lottery helped them—fast-tracked extra terminals. {/quote]

That seems borderline criminal.
I wish the jackpot would've split 10 ways and they lost their arse.

Don’t know about rigged, but definitely peak douchebag activities from that guy

Anything (sports, church, corporate, entertainment, etc) with that much money involved…yes, there’s some level of ‘cheating the system’ in all of it.

The vast majority of big jackpots are won by organized criminals, including Powerball and MM.

It wasn't prohibited by statute or rule but definitely rubbed the common folk the wrong way and the LT. Gov who went on the warpath sacking the executive director and moved the Lotto Commission under TDLR over it

OP....
First off, i don't understand why "quoting" something was difficult for you, but whoever you are quoting, is detarded, like yourself.
Second, the math don't work
and C why are they giving middle finger to people buying scratch offs when they won the lottery?
and it's not illegal to buy 25.8M lottery tickets.

Texas Lottery helped
Was nice of the writer to already include the Texas Lottery commission's cut when figuring out the profits.

There was a very interesting conspiracy theory on YouTube presented outline how often major lottery winners have or had ties to US intel/CIA.
Haven’t looked into it with any seriousness, but statistically those folks seemed to be surprisingly lucky.

I dont think the vast majority of lottery winner are OC. But there was some jersey gangster that one a pretty big prize a few years ago. And white bulger "won" like 10 million lottery (if intimidating the winner into giving you the ticket is winning)

The writer also forgot the 5% commission the owner of the terminals made selling and printing the tickets. Plus the bonus for selling the winning ticket.
There should be a law or regulation that prevents owners of lottery terminals from purchasing tickets?
Also, maybe Texas needs to implement sales restrictions when a terminal is spitting out way too many tickets of the same type to prevent such fraud? Maybe a limit 10 number sets per transaction.

How old is this? There is a podcast by The Journal on a criminal organization that won a large TX lottto. It was an interesting podcast.
