Whoever decided "hey lets try to job BK out of his contract" needs to be sent to pasture

Legitimately.
There is no smoke, there is no sauce. Because now they are in the middle of a legal battle.
What Coach worth a frick is gonna look over here and decide to take this?
LSU is a disorganized, shady, good ole boys club, who dont honor their deals in writing. Someone in LSU has royally fricked this search. I didnt realize it was this bad.
Everything up to now is speculation, because there is nothing concrete. There cant be. Arkansas is on the verge of a good hire, Auburn has their guy locked up already. Because thats what you do. You get it fricking done.
The only saving grace is that we might be forced to wait until the playoff before LSU gets it shite together, and maybe by then we can pitch something to Lane.

No one actually knows anything right now but we know enough to jump to these sorts of conclusions because our little brains told us that it's panic time.

For the 40 millionth time. Billionaire Isn’t coming up with 54 million lump. It’s 800k a month for 6 years. Thats chump change to a billionaire. Yeah!!! Don’t pay him a cent. Do the same for the players. They sucked too. Don’t pay them their NIL money. Cut them off. They don’t deserve any money.
I’m sure we will be able to find a great, new coach and then fill the roster with All Americans once we start weaseling out of our contracts to coaches and players because we aren’t happy with the results.
Florida hired Billy Napier at the same time LSU hired Brian Kelly. BK went 34-14 while Napier went 22-23. Yet somehow Florida is paying Napier what they agreed to pay him without any circus show to try and get out of it.

That was not one of the reasons listed in the contract to terminate with cause. Go ahead and list "doing a shitty job" as a reason to not honor a contract and see what level of coach you hire in today's market. If you think LSU should try to reset the market, just be prepared not to get a top-level coach and still not have the market reset.

As it stands today, that is correct. My bet is if there is a negotiated settlement, it will include a removal of the mitigation clause and a lump sum(s) payout.
