Currently with Farm Bureau but they are raising my rate 1k/yr. In Livingston parish, who are some good recommendations to shop?

I went through an agency called Goosehead this year. Was able to drop mine by like $3k. Also helped a friend of mine get theirs down a bunch. Worth a shot. Here's the number for the agent

Check your new policy. Mine renews in December with FB and they moved me to the new system. I caught it tried jumping my replacement cost (and all subsequent numbers 40% higher)

I called and spoke with my agent and he was able to get it adjusted back to realistic. Not saying that’s your case as it really was only a few hundred different but worth eyeballing

Mine did but I had to change policies. Would be interested to see if a current policy will be lowered.

After I had my replacement cost brought back to reality, mine dropped a few hundred dollars vs dec 2024. Not much in terms of percentage but a move lower. First time… ever in 20 years of my policy

This is much bigger issue than people realize. Not only does it inflate the premium, but it also makes your deductibles for hurricane or wind higher

A new company will suck you in with a cheaper premium, but raise them the next 2-3 years. It's all BS!

My premium went down $10 last year and up $60 this year. USAA has been amazing to me. Y'all should try them if you can.

It is now the first thing I check after my insurance jumped 40% after Ida. Agreed with my broker (I use Riverlands) that my old replacement cost was too low, but there was no way they could justify the new rates. He called them up (Sage SURE) and offered to have an appraisal done to dispute the new replacement cost figure, they agreed to drop to a rate all parties agreed to.

3300 a year is dumb.

My property taxes on one side of the road...$42

The other side: $1680

The cheap side has 22x more land

Insurance costs and taxes have gone retarded.
