I’m shocked Kelly’s attorney thinks his client didn’t do anything wrong and LSU owes him.

You have to remember, this is one sided information. When lsu files their answer, there will be another story.

You all are doing exactly what Kelly’s attorney wants, create outrage in public opinion to get the most for his client.

I think we saw this recently where one attorney posted a video of a car. Outrage pursued, then a second video emerged and just about everyone STFU.

It doesn’t matter what Kelly’s attorney believes or doesn’t believe. He’s bound to represent his client and get him the most advantageous deal he can.

LSU isn’t going to file any answer with any sort of dirt. They screwed up with the process. Their best bet is to get a number that will make Kelly go away asap. That’s what both sides want.

LSU agreed to stupid terms. They aren’t getting out of this paying roughly half what is owed.

They can pay him out over the terms in the contract.

Kelly either accepts this or settles.

The evidence would highly likely show that Kelly's "dirt" to the extent it exists was known to LSU at all relevant times and LSU did nothing and said mostly nothing until LSU decided it wanted to negotiate the buyout after the fact.

I disagree. The $800k/mo til 2031 was smart. It’s the reason Kelly is scrambling, cause he wants the cash now. LSU has all the cards…. You want cash now?… take an amount lower than the PV… if you say no you’ll get your $800k/mo and that’s that. The only way we agree to a lump sum now is if you give us a good deal off the PV.

You have 2 options: take a lower amount now or get your $800k/mo til 2031. You pick BK.

LSU has no incentive or reason to agree to any lump sum over $35m or so. They’ll be fine paying the $800k/mo. It’s Kelly that has the urgency/need to get the cash up front, likely to formalize the divorce and pay his wife her cut.

This. Wait for the money or settle.

They can even set him up with an office on the edge of campus.

Dude, it isn't about right or wrong in this case. Unless Kelly was doing backroom deals with boosters which would be stupid nowadays because everything is fair game.....you'd have to catch him in bed with a live boy or Shetland Pony......shtooping the realtor doesn't cut it. Maybe if he was drinking on the job habitually you could possibly do it. But, if he was getting obliterated after hours you could not.. But he would have to do something akin to what Harbaugh had happen at Michigan with the sign stealing, etc.

Something that would cause possible long term stains to the department or institution.

Kelly has thus far made the institution look bad all by itself with an assist from Landry. LSU is losing the PR war

If LSU had grounds to fire Kelly for cause, you don't want until the day after a humiliating loss to do that. And you especially don't announce to the world that he's being let go because he didn't win enough.

He sees 18 mil. If you hire him on a flat fee for 7,500. See how bound he is for the best deal on behalf of his client. Probably wont even answer the phone.

Uhh, reread what you wrote and use some critical thinking skills....

Kelly is willing to negotiate to get a lump sum that is much closer to his contract that what has been reported. That is why the lawsuit was filed.

Kelly can just say, "Pay me $800k/mth." Don't throw me in that Briar patch!

Or, he can use this lawsuit as leverage to get a much higher negotiated buyout than whatever LSU has offered so far.

BK has lots of leverage here. The starting point is the contract and he can just fall back on it.

Agreed. Avoiding mutually assured destruction (during a coaching search, no less) seems pretty unlikely.

Did James Craig or les miles win their lawsuits? Kelly has to try the case in Louisiana. Won’t see trial for two years and likely won’t have a favorable judge or jury.

Well what did he do? Not 1 person has said what he did that they are banking their case on.

This charade by LSU will cost heavily especially in football. Nobody coming. Facts

The starting point is the contract plus actively looking for another job plus a reduction based on the salary of the new job.

BK has conditions unfavorable to him as well.

Yes, but not $23 million worth of unfavorable conditions. (at least that is his position right now) If buyout is $53 million and LSU offered $30 million, which is what the lawsuit alleges.

BK is an arse, but not stupid. I bet he gets close to $40 million when the dust settles.

Surprised you say this instead of “let it play out”

If LSU has dirt, they may have to use ALL of it now
