Woodward likely had the financial support to fire BK.

His specialty was donor relations and fundraising. I am betting when he made the decision to fire, he had the commitment from donors to cover the buyout like we originally heard from some sources in BR media. The donors likely had plans with Woodward to remove BK and pursue the new HC hire they wanted. Once the governor removed him and embarrassed him publicly and it was known he wasnt going to have any say in the new HC, that financial support likely dried up and now LSU is left to figure it out without the support. Pretty ugly situation regardless and this will damage LSU athletics pretty heavily. Yikes.

Scott Woodward should be forced to pay the buyout from his own pockets.
Go wash some dishes or something.

Lol people here will blame Woodward for all this mess when it would not have happened if he was retained. This is the kind of dysfunction we had before Woodward and now that he is gone it is already back. Not a coincidence. Yea he made a risky expensive hire that did not work out. He was likely going to fix it himself without damaging LSU, but he was fired before he could. Now we have clowns running the show and it will be chaos. Downvote away.

It’s pretty clear Woodward was the only one capable of running this AD
It’s an all out fricking clown show now

Why would I downvote a true statement?

That’s exactly what happened. The governor and his band of idiots are doing immeasurable damage not only to the football program, but the university.

People who wanted Woodward gone don’t understand that hiring coaches isn’t all an AD does.
Woodward was a good overall AD. His strength wasn’t the hires, but that’s all most fans see or care about.

Agreed up to about $30M, which Woody told key boosters he could get BK to agree to.
The only thing that makes sense about the hardball LSU approach….WTF is “we didn’t actually fire BK”???…. is the full buyout is not yet raised.

Woodward fired BK without the board's approval in the heat of the moment during a tense argument about what assistants to let go.

This has been debunked. They had a calm professional meeting and he was let go. No staff changes were proposed or discussed.

Unfortunately for Woodward, he isn't God. He had a boss, etc. So, despite what he may or may not have lined up, he can't just do his own thing without repurcussions.

Correct. His boss stepped in and showed us all who is on charge. And here we are.

I have been saying this same thing for weeks. Woodward, with the help of James Carville, had deep pocket connections that go beyond the Louisiana clown show that is Landry and his Supervisor cronies. Landry hated that Woodward could do things without him. Landry blew up the golden goose house and now where does the money come from?

For the 10,000 time, The big money people wanted Woodward gone, that’s why he’s gone. There isn’t a single big money person that was loyal to Woodward and only giving money if Woodward was AD lmao. Some of yall truly are fricking idiots

If you think Holden Spaht, Lipsey-Aronson, Todd Graves will continue support for Landry and his band if idiots, you are wrong. They LSU not the state. They want an LSU that can reach higher than the embarrassment that is Louisiana.

I promise I know way more on this than you do. Money people hated Woodward, and I’m not talking about the little thousand dollar donors from Baton Rouge that you might know, they don’t matter, the ones giving millions to lsu and nil didn’t like Woodward and that’s all that matters and no Gordon McKernan is not one of those big boosters.

There are donors and there are those that say " get all you can from your donors, I am there when you need me to make up the rest." They said it when Kelly was hired, they said it when Kelly was fired. They do not need to worry about their donor status or TAF points. Billionaires play at a different level. SW had this level of connections, with the help of others. Don't know if they stay in support of LSU now.
