This was inevitable after the death of Skattebo

I think that Daboll could be a good HC at a different org. The NY teams' front offices are just dog water.

The Russ decision doomed him.

Well deserved, though a first time HC is not the right guy to elevate the roster he's given. At least now they have a QB to build around, so there's that.

Should have fired him with the first Daniel Jones completion of the '25 season.

It’s kind of odd the NFLs recent trend of “draft a first round QB for a lame duck coach” has become

I actually feel like he had the Giants on the right track but they had some really bad luck.

But I was told he's the quarterback whisperer and Josh Allen is only good because of him. I'm glad he's gone, about damn time.

It does suck when your 2nd year big time receiver goes down for the year in the 2nd or 3rd game and then your rookie RB who is playing well also gets hurt

I agree for the most part honestly. The Giants' current roster is not entirely devoid of talent. Sure they need some more pieces on the offensive line and in the secondary, and losing Nabers and Skattebo to injury did them no favors either. However, there hasn't been enough winning to justify keeping Daboll even before this season. The Giants are 11-33 in their last 44 games, and it seems that getting a potential franchise QB in Dart hasn't magically turned things around like Daboll hoped

The great thing is whoever comes in as the Giants' next head coach has a bunch of young players like Dart, Skattebo, Nabers, Carter, Tracy, Dru Phillips, etc. to build out a competent roster. I think Daboll's ultimate downfall was multiple years of poor roster construction - their offensive line still sucks and they have the worst run defense in the NFL. If the next coach can come in and fix at least one of those two things (preferably the OL so Dart doesn't get hit 13 times per game), I think the Giants can be a damn good football team within two years.

Their defense has let them down in a couple of games.
But, the Giants weren't expected to be very good, anyway.

Yeah but they legit licked the Chargers, Eagles and Broncos and were whooping the Bears as well. 3 maybe 4 playoff teams.

I love Dart btw but he did cost them the Broncos and Bears games with late 4Q turnovers AND he loves Daboll.

They'll be fine they're the #1 coaching destination for sure this off-season. More of a sliding doors type of moment bc I think Daboll is a good HC

Just saw he won a ring with Saban at Bama - wonder if he has any college interest

I posted yesterday you could see him resigned to this fate yesterday when Dart was hurt.

That was always the weird thing about keeping him around this year when the front office had destroyed the roster, especially with a new QB.

It seems like it was just a ploy by the FO to avoid scrutiny even though most of the issues are on them for bad drafts. And Dart is Daboll's pick, so they don't' even get to claim him.
