I'm sure there are plenty of threads on this, but we gave Alabama that game. Just handed it to them on a gold platter.

As much as I have bashed our defense this year when they have to play good opponents, they kept us in the game and got stops when they needed and played well overall.

We were given chance after chance and just didn't take advantage of it.

1. Ramos's Missed FG
2. Bauer Sharp fumble leading to a Bama FG
3. The incomplete pass on 3rd and 11 at our own 19 with a minute left in the half instead of running the clock out since Bama had no timeouts left.
4. 1st and Goal at the 9 ending up 4th and Goal at the 27
5. 1st and Goal at the 7 ending up 4th and Goal at the 20
6. Trey'Dez dropping a pass in his hands that would've been at least 40-50 yards.
7. Jimari Butler had an INT in his hands on the batted ball and their offensive lineman catches it. Would've kept 3 points off the board for Bama.

It's a shame to think what this team could've been this year with the right coaching, especially on offense and someone who can be creative and knows how to scheme.

Yep, very winnable game, but kept stepping on our dicks over and over and over again.

I don’t think I’ve seen a team shoot themselves in the foot like we did Saturday.

Bamas acting all high and mighty. If I were them I’d be pretty concerned right now. You let a team with no HC and that prob couldn’t move the ball on a HS JV team stay with you practically the entire game at home in prime time. Also barely beat a shitty SC team.

Man, I agree the refs sucked in that game, but we never should've even been in a position to allow them a chance to have an affect on the game if we just take care of business and take advantage of the opportunities that we were given.

Saturday was as frustrating to watch as a late Les Miles team.

Bama sucks. They're not good. Lucky for them they ran into the most inept team when it comes to scoring that I've ever watched play.

I was really unimpressed with their offense, Simpson in particular. Seemed like every impressive throw was offset by at least one WTF throw.

This just highlights the overall problem with the team. They do not execute, which is generally a coaching staff problem. The defense generally does well, but there is a lot of poor execution. When you look at Indiana and Vandy, they have shite for talent, but they inexplicably make plays they shouldn’t be making. Winners make plays, and we don’t even though the talent is there.

Except for 4 and 5, coaching had ZERO to do with 1-3 and 6-7 above. .

All of those things you just listed are just things that we have done all year long. It’s things that make us a not very good football team.

That is true, but I disagree on No.3. Why call a pass there? 3rd and 11 at your own 19 yard line with that offense? Bama has no timeouts. Just run the clock out and get into the half down one score. Instead, Bama is in the end zone in 3 plays, and it's 17-6 as opposed to 10-6.

Game was very winnable, always a hard L to take against Bama under those circumstances.

I figured the defense would play well and give LSU a change. I said before, the key would be if the offense changed its overall approach. Trying to run in different ways besides (in general) RPOs, ATTACKING THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD, in the passing game, taking a few deep shots.

It didn't. We saw a lot of the same terrible approach as we've seen all season OR, maybe it's just that Nussmeier hasn't thrown to what was there. MVB at least attempted some throws into tight windows (with some success).

The OL has been far, far, worse than anyone could have imagined. That's not on the QBs. But the overall design and approach has been awful. One would think after countless game where these stupid outside screens give you nothing those plays would be thrown away. But they haven't been.

And they may be on par with us in terms of running the ball. Very one dimensional.

#3 was coaching, they called the play
#6 is arguably coaching, we had too many mental drops last night for that to not be a coaching issue.
