So, YouTube TV is providing a previously announced $20 credit to your account for the troubles created by losing the Disney/ABC/ ESPN content.

Do you automatically get the credit? Of course not.
You have to follow the instructions in the email sent

quote:

To redeem your credit, please go to the ‘Updates’ tab in Membership Settings using your web browser, and follow the prompts. Once complete, this discount will be applied to your next bill for YouTube TV.

And of course this was sent on a Sunday night at 10 PM, undoubtedly probably studies have been done that show what is the most likely time to deliver an email that will go unnoticed.

There is 0 reason to have live tv anymore besides sports and everyone knows it. It's why tv rights contracts for sports have gone so absolutely insane. It's the only thing propping up the entire traditional tv eat hing experience.

Any tv service without sports is completely dead, these little discounts won't stop me or anyone else from cancelling.

They must not like you.

My refund is automatic per their email to me.

ETA: I see you down voted me!

Google/alphabet is worth 3.5 tril. Disney is worth 200 billions. Couldnt they just buy out Disney and give us ESPN free for a year? Win win if you ask me.

It would be, but my email said I didn't have to do anything to get the $20 off.

I had to go find it in my trash folder because I thought I goofed up deleting it, but nope.

the only way it is automatic is if your billing is through google play or certain other services...

Fair enough. I can't know how other folks get YTTV. I assumed they got it from Google directly.

I pay with Google pay and it was not automatic. To get to the update tab on the web version was a pain to find. It wasn't under membership but membership was at the top of a list of options and the update was at the bottom and of course 1 word outside my normal screen so I had to scroll down to see it.

Well, I paused the membership and am about ready to just cancel it. I don’t care about YouTube or Disney right now and since LSU sucks, I can find other things to occupy my time. I will probably go back to a service in the new year but I am going to leave them all for the next few months. Will they notice my single drop, probably not but hopefully I am one of thousands of others who are doing the same.

All the scrambling and head aches of finding a way to watch the game. Are you better off for having watched that crap show?

I got an email yesterday that said I will get another email "over the next few days" that will tell me how to redeem the $20 credit.

You're bitching at them for giving you a $20 credit?

We've been working in good faith to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays them fairly for their content and returns their programming to YouTube TV. We know it’s been disappointing to lose Disney content, and we want you to know we deeply appreciate your patience. In light of the disruption, we’re offering our subscribers a $20 credit.

?

Over the next few days, you will receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to redeem your $20 credit for YouTube TV. Once redeemed, this will be applied to your next bill.

?

We remain committed to working with Disney to bring their content back to YouTube TV. As always, family managers have the ability to pause or cancel anytime.

Thanks for your membership,
