Yeah, I was commenting about this the other day. Last time we had a number of coaches and issues to pick from. So far, the only thing that has been anywhere near constant is hoping that we can coax a 74 yr old man out of retirement for possibly a 3 yr stint despite the fact he has said he does not want to.

I think the problem is when we fire a coach early in the season like that, the process now gets drawn out too long because we wont announce a hire until that coach is done with his season.

It’s early in the cycle with weeks still to go before the end of the season. For LSU and Florida (and Ole Miss), Lane is the first domino and even he doesn’t know what he’s going to do. Until he decides, these programs are just doing due diligence, gauging interest and determining the short list for when he makes his decision.

Part of it is any time someone posts rumors about Nick Saban and to a lesser extent Kiffin, an army of posters come and tell everyone how retarded the idea is and how it’s not going to happen.
I don’t think Nick is coming but it’s just fun to read the rumors without people shitting all over it. The best part of coaching search is the wild rumors and here say
