Former UNO men’s basketball players Jamond Vincent, Dyquavian "Jah" Short and Cedquavious "Dae Dae" Hunter have been banned for life by the NCAA following a probe into sports betting allegations.

Vincent, Short and Hunter were found to have “violated ethical conduct rules, triggering permanent ineligibility” as a result of their involvement in sports betting, according to the NCAA committee on infractions. The three players are no longer enrolled at UNO and were suspended for the final 10 games of the 2024-25 season.

The report said that Hunter, Short and Vincent “manipulated their performances for the purpose of financially benefiting themselves and others in seven games from December through January. In all seven games, Hunter, Short and Vincent lost or attempted to lose by more points than the betting spread identified by sportsbook operators, in a conspiracy with outside bettors."

UNO received a tip from men’s basketball players about potential game manipulation involving sports betting and went on to report it to the NCAA, which led to the investigation beginning in February.

Cedquavious, I remember reading about him in history class. He did a lot of great things for the ancient Greeks.

Ohio bans college player prop bets. I think that may be coming to other states soon based on all of these popping up.

You can't bet college player props in LA, just awards like Heisman etc

Again, I have no issues with this. Pay them, and allow them to bet, gamble, rig games as they please. It isn't like other coaches, players, and refs aren't doing it too in every sport.

This shite was happening before sports betting was accessible everywhere.

I would expect it to be 100x worse today.

The player suspensions & rumors of it being gambling related are months old

The today update is the NCAA actually banning them permanently for game-fixing

ETA: Will they go NAIA? I bet there's a NAIA team or 2 that might take a flyer on them... maybe 1 or 2 also in the LSU system

Esp. since I've yet to ever see a line put out for any NAIA game (not involving a NCAA school)

Cedquavious‘ gonna be dead, and you're gonna say, 'Oh, I've been watching him ball for years, and I think he's fabulous!’

They were just throwing to throw?

Obviously not.

Bets were down in other states that allow it.
