I’m seeing this a lot, more and more Americans are choosing to live in Hotels

The price of rent has gotten so out of control in America it’s now half the monthly price to just live in a hotel and have all utilities, water, WiFi and everthing included

“Yes, we live in a hotel, and honestly, it's by choice. — It's all just one bill a week. Like, seriously, where else are you gonna get a roof over your head with a little small kitchen, bathroom, bedroom? Plenty big enough for two people for $314, approximately dollars a week.

Now, this includes your power, your water, your Wi-Fi any maintenance. You don't have to worry about lawn care or dealing with anything outside. You have to get a key to even get in, to even knock at my door. We didn't have to pay any huge deposits, which was the big breaking point when we went out looking for a place. And if you have a background, that just makes it even harder.“

Really think about this. The price of rent in America is so insane you can now living in a hotel for cheaper, much much cheaper

There's one on the corner of GA20 and 316 in Lawrenceville that actually has a school bus stop in the parking lot for all the kids living there.

She's lying. Just by looking at her I can tell they repoed her and her ole man's trailer, probably took their kids too. That's why he's pacing in the background smoking a cigarette.

Used to be a thing years ago.

Harry Caray lived in a hotel in Chicago for many years.

And of course there is a famous children's book about a little girl whose family lives in the Plaza Hotel in NYC.

My Aunt lived in several hotels in NYC over a 15 year + period of her life. She mostly drank Scotch, bitched about the doormen, and counted her money, though.

As an average OTer, that’s half of what my average hotel costs per night

A friend who died a few years ago lived in hotels the vast majority of his adult life, luxury hotels. He had oil wells around the globe.

I made the mistake of staying in one of those weekly hotels back in 2019 while working out of town. Pre paid for the whole week and by day 3 I upgraded to a nicer hotel. And you could tell that there were definitely people who "lived there" just by walking by.

These are cheap weekly hotels...

And believe me, with few exceptions you really don't want to stay in any of those.

One time I actually saw a welcome mat at the hotel room door and a grill chained to the post outside the door.

Dead serious. Lafayette circa 2012

We switched hotels.
