If Nuss struggles, looks like he finally may be on a very short leash.

Wilson on MVB at SEC coaches teleconf:
quote:

Practice has gone well. Michael has taken more snaps than he usually has. He understands that at any moment he could be called into action.

Van Buren will win the game against Alabama if given the chance. They haven’t prepped a second for a scrambling qb.

He is not a great runner. He is more athletic than Nuss in the pocket, but he is not a real dual threat guy.

that was the conclusion i came to also watching him this year thus far,
definitely would have done no worse than the nussbaw rickshaw at ole piss.

What do you consider dual threat, nothing less than Lamar?

Bro what? They’ve had to play Castellanos, Pavia, and Sellers. All of those guys are bigger running threats than MVB.

You can start with someone who has positive rushing yards…

I think he meant this week. Or, the last 2 as I think they're on bye as well.

Everybody keeps saying he’s not a great runner, MVB is athletic he just isn’t a run first QB. Which is perfectly fine, better than don’t run at all.

All he has to do is present the threat of a 5-10 yd scramble once or twice a drive. That's enough to open up the pass. If Bama chooses to ignore it & bail on a scrambling QB, he can eat them up with his legs in 5 - 10 yd bursts until they do. Bama will have to put a spy & will open some things up in the pass.

I don’t even think it’s just that.
I think we’re looking at 2 QB system

Sooooo we're going to start the guy who brought us to 5-3, can't scramble to save his life and has a broken body.

Seems like a good idea.

dual threat, nothing less than Lamar?

A true dual-threat has a game plan designed for him to run in order to attack the other team

Castellanos rushed 14 times for 78 yds and a TD average 4.9 ypc...

Pavia rushed 12 for 58 yds for 4.8 ypc his two turnovers killed Vandy...

Sellers rushed 18 for 67 yds for 3.7 ypc and a TD ...his fumble late in the game cost SC the win...

MVB in 6 starts was sacked 20 times so his will show negavtive in his stats but take away the sacks his rushe for 104 yards on 69 carries but those "carries" I'm sure were trying to scamble from getting away from pressure.

He did have 5 rushing TDs with the long being 17 yds but his was thrown into the fire as a freshman...

Are you under the impression that LSU has a good offensive line?
