It is coming down, slowly but surely. Big change is coming, finally, and the wait is just about over. Recent indictments are simply an introduction to so much criminality and corruption.

So wait...

Trump was filing a civil suit (for what? unclear) in Florida...

And the DOJ then did the MAL raid to recover documents that were going to be used in that lawsuit...

How? Why did Trump have those documents and not his attorneys? How were no copies made (especially with a lawsuit ready, which presumably has the copies as exhibits)?

How could he get venue in a Florida court for the suit?

If it was for Crossfire Hurricane, how had the SOL for a civil suit not lapsed?

His lawyers apparently did/do have copies.

Because he lives there?

Not sure how long the SOL is for this particular suit . Crossfire Hurricane was going on during most of his first term was it not?

Trump had a SCIF in his house. They raided it to recover classified documents. The whole thing is stupid.

You’re confusing jurisdiction with venue.

So why was the lawsuit never filed?

The implication seems to be that the government stole them and thwarted the suit. If Trump's team had the docs, they could still sue.

Florida/federal venue isn't based off the domicile of the plaintiff, generally.

I don't think so.

Aside from the fact that Andrew Weismann was in private practice since 2019.

He would not be in a position to do anything regarding MAL raid.

If there were to be a suit against the FBI for crossfire hurricane, the venue would be all wrong. It's either SDNY where Trump was a resident when the investigation kicked off or in DC. Even if the suit were civil

I'm not sure a judge.....aside from Aileen Cannon would accept in So.FL

My guess is that Trump's lawyers knew he had classified material that may or may not have necessitated a clearance, and they thought better of having documents themselves where they could technically be screwed.

The issue came down to the government maintained Trump still had classified documents either on the Secret level or above. Trump did not like the fact that the government wanted them back, as he considered them HIS. So he was telling his lawyers to essentially lie on an affidavit. He wasn't going to lie himself, but he was "suggesting" the lawyers lie.

Crazy thing about all of this is that as soon as a subpoena was issued, about the documents he should have directed his lawyers to quash the subpoena. Had they done that you most probably don't have the MAL raid.

SFP, I think you would agree that as a lawyer in this case you would have moved to quash. That would have ended or blunted the government's actions as to any raid.

Mike Davis is operating as a hack in all of this. He knows damn well that what he is saying is NOT the case.

So, the democrats changed laws to arrest Trump, ignored the President’s authority to declassify documents, conducted an unprecedented raid on a former president, tried to remove him from the ballot, sent perverts to sniff his wife's panties, arrested several members of his inner circle on trumped up charges, and called CNN so they can watch old, nonviolent men be dragged out of their homes in their underwear.

But sure, they simply would have dropped this case just because his lawyers asked to quash a subpoena.

It's amazing what people can convince themselves of. Here we have people who think the democrats care about the law despite there not being a single shred of evidence to support such an outlandish claim.

Which is why they’re setting up a grand jury in Fort Pierce.

Not drop the case. But it would have remained a civil beef and out in the open. Ex Presidents and the Archives always have issues about what is their property and the government's.

Lawyers move to quash. It goes to court. It goes into the open. There's probably no need for attorneys to even worry about possibly having to lie in an affidavit about possible declassifying of documents in the first place.

Government did exactly what Trump and his political inner circle wanted in regards to Mar A Lago. He invited the raid so as to get pretext for running again, because the case in DC was a loser for the government.....and the main attorneys were not too terribly worried about what was going on in ATL.

Trump probably saw it as a no lose with only rewards.

It's amazing to see the board "libertarian" defend the Democrats and their political violation of the 4th Amendment. Of all things, he's defending the government's right to search and seizure of political opponents.

Trump said he was going to give the the declassified Crossfire Hurricane files to John Solomon. That appears to have had an effect on the crooks who were involved in it.

They all need to go down hard.
