LSU can't focus solely on Lane or Saban.

They both could say no, and then this search starts all over with other top coaching names already committed elsewhere.

Just go get Golesh. He’s that “next” guy

By this point I’m sure they have a very good idea if either or both have real interest.

He has a great resume. Worked for Matt Campbell and Heupel. Pairing his offense up with a top level DC, would be exciting at LSU. He's 41, so he could be at LSU 10 or more years.

Hopefully Sexton is talking to Verge on a regular basis.

Whenever you start a sentence with “Could be” the answer is a definitive NO. This Program is way past “Could be” LSU is a Brand. We are searching for a BOOM hire.

I sure hope you’ve passed this insight along to the BOS. I’m sure nobody else had considered this until now!

That’s not what I heard. I heard they had one name on the list and if they could not get him they are just leaving the position vacant for a year. They might let Verge be acting or interim head coach, but can’t decide on a title.

Saban and Kiffin are the only "poll tested" approved candidates for this cabal of goofballs. The problem is when they both say no, there is no strong leadership to pursue the next options. It will be a divergent group of egos all seeking attention and shouting for their own favorite candidate...each wanting to be the one to take credit for hiring the next LSU HC (even if just in certain social circles)

I'm sure he is. Just like he's doing with many ADs. Sexton as the "belle of the ball" candidate (Kiffin) with 3 desperate suitors at the party hoping to get her attention (LSU, Florida, Auburn) and her current SO desperate to keep her. He's going to lead all of them on to get the price as high as possible...for Ole Miss...who Kiffin will stay with. This bidding war opportunity is an agent's dream.

Golesh could come in and keep the whole defensive staff. Don’t see why not

Well it seems Ranters here are focused on Saban and Lane only. Any other candidates or names are dismissed immediately by them. Hope Verge isn't reading any of those idiotic ranter posts.

We’re not just focused on Lane or Saban, OP. We’re also focused on Will Wade.

Not Golesh.

Kenny Dillingham took over Arizona St where they got a scholarship ban and went 3-9 under Herms last year. And in 2 years on a scholarship ban, he got them in the CFP and an OT away from the Semis. He’s best outside Kiffin and Saban. Super hungry demeanor, coach. He’s our guy.

Golesh would be a very disappointing hire.

I wouldn't be disappointed with golesh if I were LSU. I'm not saying he is better than dillingham but also not saying he isnt. I think LSU could do much worse than golesh for sure though
