Georgia Leads Nation in Cheating on Partners, But Draws Line at the Office

The disconnect is sharp. A state where more than half of residents admit to infidelity somehow maintains one of the lowest rates of workplace cheating in the nation. Georgians will betray their marriage vows but won’t fudge their timesheets.

Georgians will step out on their spouse before they’ll steal time at work, according to new data that reveals the Peach State’s peculiar moral compass points directly away from the office and straight toward the bedroom.

52% of the state has cheated on their partner. WTF

Solitaire Bliss surveyed Americans across all 50 states about their everyday cheating habits, and Georgia’s results paint a picture of a state with selective morality. Georgians rank second-highest nationally for admitting to cheating on a partner (52%) and seventh-highest for cheating on a diet (84%), according to the survey. Yet when it comes to self-checkout theft or cutting corners at work, Georgia suddenly finds its conscience.
Only 30% of Georgia residents admit to cheating at self-checkout, making the state sixth-lowest nationally for retail theft. More telling: just 26% say they’ve cheated at work to get ahead, the second-lowest rate in the country.

Overall cheating:

This is followed by cheating at store checkouts, which 45% of people admit to doing. This category includes three different ways people cheat while shopping, including purposely not scanning an item at self-checkout (20%), swapping tags or lying about a price to get items cheaper (14%), and consuming food or a drink while shopping and not paying for it (11%).

Cheating on your spouse is trashy and low class.

The IRS must have funded that survey.

Alabama has a higher cheating score because of family connections

It appears to be that Georgia falls lower on the scale than Louisiana and Texas, but am zero surprised at New York being number 1.

In Kentucky, if you cheat on your older sister, with the your two younger sisters its called the bluegrass hat trick.

Whether you cut a long line because you saw your friend was near the front or snacked on a candy bar when you were supposed to be counting calories, most of us are guilty of some form of cheating in our lives. When looking at a variety of examples, we found that New York residents are most guilty as the state ranks first for the most cheaters with a score of 98.04 out of 100.
Overall, we discovered that residents of the Empire State are the most likely to cut corners at work by cheating on work-related tasks. New York residents are also the most likely to cut someone in line. Second in our ranking is Arkansas with a cheater score of 97.54 out of 100. Residents of the state are the most likely to cheat while playing a single-player game. They are also the most likely to hack a business’s order or reward system for their benefit.
Coming in third for cheating is Alabama with a score of 95.69 out of 100. From social media to dating websites, nearly 1 in 2 Alabama residents say they have posted a photo or video where they altered their appearance to look more attractive.
When it comes to cheating at a store checkout, we found New Mexico, Colorado, and Oregon residents are the most guilty. Similarly, Kansas, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania residents are the most likely to report they have cheated on a diet.
When examining more serious topics of cheating, we discovered Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida residents were the most likely to have cheated in a romantic relationship. Additionally, California, Kentucky, and Illinois residents are the most likely to admit they have cheated on their taxes.
On the other end of the spectrum, it’s North Carolina residents leading the charge for honesty, ranking first for the least cheaters. This is followed by Minnesota in second place and Maine in third.

Georgia, huh? I'll go out on a limb and say the reason why workplace infidelity doesn't overlap with basic cheating may be because the culprits are unemployed.

What type of cheating do you consider to be classy or high class?

100% and I would have liked to have seen marriage infidelity broken out from the muddled, ambiguous “partner” term.

Cheating with a Supermodel.

I've always found it peculiar that people that I've known are much more sanctimonious when it comes to job hopping than marital disputes and cheating.
A lot of older people will talk about the latter as if "that's life" and the former as being disloyal or unsettled.
I know someone one their 3rd marriage who routinely talks about the younger generation not working for a company long-term.
It makes no sense to me. My job is nothing. Literally I don't give a frick about my job or my company and never will. My wife is everything.

There's no way these self-checkout scanners are saving money over hiring some idiot and paying them $11.35/hr to do it.
I think I read somewhere that data indicates Americans are eating a billion tons of bananas every year because people just scan expensive stuff and ring it up as bananas.
