Why was there never a Cobra sequel. I recall it being an awesome movie when I was a kid. Stallone had plenty of sequels so why not this one?

Sly said he was dealing with personal issues but regrets not turning Cobra into a franchise. The production company was also having financial issues at the time

Great movie though

Bad dude kept saying "Pig" with spit flying out of his mouth.

I remember that.

It’s one of the most awesome awful movies ever. The one liners in that movie are great.

My buddies and I saw it a second time to count how many people he killed. I believe it was up into the 150s.

ETA; only 41 according to Google

Even when I first saw the movie as a kid I thought the Jatimatic smg was a odd gun choice but I'm guessing it's because you never really see it in movies

The poster always made me think it was a laser gun.

Cobra got made because Sly was originally attached to Beverly Hills Cop (iirc), but the tone was too dark.

So he was allowed to go make Cobra or something like that and the studio went with Eddie for BHC.

My cousins and I did the same thing when I was younger. And we were around 41 I believe.

I rewatched it last year, and it’s not a good movie at all. It’s so bad. But it’s also fun as shite. And how can you hate on the body count. It’s just so ridiculously stupid that it sort of becomes awesome.

When I was in college i used to cut cold pizza with a pair of scissors because of this movie....

I did not keep my gun cleaning stuff in an egg holder though.

Cobra was loosely based on a book that was later adapted into 1995’s Fair Game.
